It is quade cooper

??? Elaborate please…

Cooper was dumped from the Reds with them paying out his 1.3 million contract over the next two years.

About to start park footy it would seem.

Who did I miss ??

Sorry Barba

Barba would completely go against everything Pascoe and IC have set out to do in terms of a culture change. Wife beater and on the sniff, and has done nothing to show that he's turned his attitude around, unlike a Russell Packer.

Yep, I agree, would think it goes slightly against the culture we seem to be building here.
“Barba was sacked by Toulon after playing just four games”, if he comes here, let’s at least hope he lasts 5

At last focussing on building a strong squad for this season.

What do you mean? It’s pretty much what was done for the majaority of last season.

Barba now - more useful for our chances in 2018 - than:entering into bidding wars for more preferred options that may never eventuate.
If legit - he strengthens a position we have a question mark over now - and we can still target players for next year.
If you dont rate him then naturally I wouldnt expect you to agree.

The signing is for 2019.

My bad - I thought it was for this year.

17 pages and counting…..haha

Is SG like a volunteer firefighter who is also a firebug???? He has lit this fire and is sitting back watching the blaze...time and 50 + pages of posts shall tell... :roll

I'll be under whelmed if it turns out to be Barba. He's 28 and has never played rep footy. That's not what I would call a "big" signing.

We need a classy back who is able to turn the game and know how to score a try.
That can be an upgrade on Suli.
That can play full back and feel comfortable to fill in as utility.
So not many free agents out there that can fill that bill …... but Barba fits the bill.
He seems keen to re-establish his NRL career.
I don’t give a stuff about his past indiscretions. I rather see him in our side than for him to line up against us.
So if true ...... he is “big” signing for our club .... but with little “b”.

C'mon now… not being able to crack the QLD team isn't really indicative of anything. Teddy wouldn't get picked over Slater are you telling me he's not a big signing?

Big signing. Coming soon.

Words that whet any Wests Tigers fan with hope and wishful thinking and anticipation and a raised level of expectation of something better.

Who doesn't love a mystery.
And even better when the underdog wins!

Just hope this "game changer" is real and #onthebus as part of our champion team!

Let me commit to you all, if I ever find out from someone "in the know" about a potential signing, I will name the player and not have this 18-page waste of time where we all guess about the focal point of a totally unsupported rumour.

I don't care if this is legit or not, stop playing games with your info, it's tiresome.

We are not East down know if we could fit them all under the sombrero

I’ve always enjoyed SG’s posts. Hope you’re right with this one mate.
Not convinced it’s Barba although I wouldn’t be complaining if it was.
Out of all the names mentioned I would guess it’s Folau, Cleary Jnr or Gutherson. They’re guys who would fit the culture we’re trying to build and Folau at least would be a game changer in more ways than one. Only thing is I’m not sure about the clearance from the NRL bit.
Anyway I hope something comes of this…

Clearly it's Anthony Mundine. The timing of SG's rumour and Choc leaving the jungle is too coincidental for mine 😉

Thanks, but your self esteem and ego wont be inflated without all the attention

Spot on jirksyr. There's only 2 reasons to pkay the guessing game, one is to protect the player and or source, the 2nd is for attention.

Look if it is Barba and I'm thinking it is then he brings an ex-factor that we just don't have

He has made the finals in the last 5 NRL seasons he has played in with 3 different clubs - he has won a premiership and made another grand final.

He has won a Dally M Medal in 2012 and was 10th in the Dally M in 2016 when he was the premiership winning fullback.

He also creates tries and creates linebreaks - at both the Dogs and the Sharks he was the key attacking force really - he didn't have halves that were breaking the game open points wise a lot of it came off him.

I want Lolohea to do great but like everyone I wonder if he is a) fit enough and b) able - I hope he is but with Barba you know on field he will do the business
