If we can get him he'd be a good buy but hard to see Manly non re-signing him unless Hopoate is available. Manly have a bit of a glut of outside backs - B Stewart, Robertson, Hoppa jnr, T Williams, D Williams, Oldfield etc

Hoppa is quitting the game at the end of this season
 
With Blair coming in, not sure there would be the available cash, maybe they are looking at half back instead, who knows?

Hence my use of the word "unless" in the opening sentence. Hoppa says he is going on sabbatical for 2 years but as I understand nothing is set in stone and Manly's thinking on their 2012 line-up might shift. If he does go they will be keener to hang on to T Williams, if he hangs around they'll need to lose some outside backs.

Like it has been stated Hoppa is out for 2 years,also Robertson is going to the ESL and Williams I don't think has been re-signed yet.

Do you guys not read these posts?? Yes I realise he has said he's going on his missionary studies that's why I said UNLESS he is available. Since it looks like he is going, it's hard to see Manly not re-signing guys like Tony Williams.
Yes I realise Robertson is going to the UK next year but he's still there at the moment. **Have** not will have for 2012…
 
I really don't see wests having enough left to scrape together to pay for him. They'll be using whatever they do have left to sign a new half.
 
wests have lost dwyer so i dono if he is still being payed but if not they can use dwyers salary to buy trex…
also on manly they have lyon oldfield matai and farrar signed for next year...d williams is still to be signed and hoppa and robertson are gone
but that shouldnt matter as T-rex is now seen as a second rower
 
the way he runs the ball reminds me of tuaki..
on that alone i'd take him… (because i miss watching TNT play!)
 
If we are going to hope for the impossible (which williams is ) I like to go back to my old favourite, Slater/Cronk package deal.

Maybe the Storm will cover some of their salary in their cap for us aswell??
 
Dwyer is still on payroll. But I think they will most likely push to have his contract excluded from cap if they can. If they can there is a good amount of coin for us to buy a good glad back. But unlike Lazarus, Miller is a consistant player and prob ready for a good shot at half back.

No thanks. IMO Williams is evidence that they give out Australian Jumpers far too easily if you win the competition. There is no way he was one of the best second rowers throughout the year.

Fully agree that Williams making it is a joke but they certainly don't traditionally give aust jerseys away to comp winners, wen we won the comp we only had prince make training squad, wasn't even in the team lol that was outrageous!
