I think blair is a good signing but not at $500k,would pay that to get Gallon or Thaiday. What does every one think? :roll

The $500k figure is only coming from a article yonks ago that apparently suggested that it was what his manager was asking for, and I think even that was 2nd hand information when it was reported.

I really, really doubt he has been signed for $500k of our cap. I wouldn't give any credence to that figure.

I agree..

I think he is the better option for the tigers over those players mentioned . He has a skillful set of hands & can get offloads away.

The recent articles mention 2 million over 4 years. Am sure we have some extra sources of funds in there.

Sponsorship is up and it would be hard to think that we didnt get any good 3rd party deals.

Blair coming to a billboard near u!!

They have just taken the 500 and multiplied it by 4.

If people accurately knew contract values, Melbourne storm would have never have happened.

I suppose it depends on what you think other players are on? If Fifita can get $300k, Blair is cheap at $500k!!!

thats a good point. Fafita is great, but unproven. Blair is an international vice-captain with grand final wins.

i think this is actually a great thing to point out - especially with some of that extra 200k coming from 3rd parties.

I have gone from happy but a bit annoyed to pretty content - looking fwd to seeing him on the field.

I think Blair and his management in particular like the idea of saying its 500k per year. Talks up Blairs Value, and makes the manager look like a hero - some extra clientele can't hurt.

If 500K is correct, then it's way over what I think any forward is worth. In saying that though Blair certainly doesn't have many bad games and always seems to try his arse off. I just can't get my mind around 500K for a battering ram.

The deal is done. As for how much, probably only a handful of people know the exact figure. The way I see it if Benji is on $400k per year, then there's no way Blair is earning more. But it's not really the point. He'll improve the Tigers forward pack and that's the main thing.

Blair will bring alot off the park as well, show alot of the boys what it takes off the park win a comp,Particuarly with our young bloke s coming through.

Remember bennett when he signed Luke Priddis, he said that he was worth as much as a leader monday to friday as he was on game day. Blair is a similar buy

It's not what we are paying him ..it's what he will be bring to the club plain and simple sometimes you can't pay someone enought but time will tell ,a top tier signing so who cares how much.

Remember when Blair grabbed Benji by the scruff of the neck and threatened to belt him if he didn't pull his head in while on NZ duty? This is exactly what Benji and most players at this club needs. I'm pretty sure it got the best out of Benji too.

Blair will be a leader on and off the park. He would also be the prime example of what Humphries is alluding to be when he talks about a professional player.

On the park, Blair is widely recognised as one of the best wrestlers in the comp, and this is aspect of the game that we ALWAYS struggle with. I believe we are the worst in the comp by far when it comes to the wrestle.

Off the park he is NZ's vice captain, has played in three grand finals, and has valuable experience that most players in our side do not. To be honest I don't care what he is paid when we can still afford to have the likes of Benji, Robbie, Lawrence, Ellis, Galloway etc. in the same side with him.

Hybrid I agree with Blair being one of the best wrestlers in the comp , but if the Tigers don't get a good wrestling \Ju jitsu coach he can only make X amount of tackles every week We need everyone to get on board

I wonder if Humphries told Blair that he will be getting paid in NZ dollars.. By my calculations, 500k NZD works out to be around 390k AUD a season.. Not a bad buy after all
