Blake Austin

Ill put in a few quotes from our conversation for you guys:

"Thanks mate. Really excited about joining the tigers and playing some of the stars yous have. Cant wait for next year. Cheers."

"Mate i play a number of positions. Would like to focus on five eight"

Rest wasn't really about Tigers, he is already my favourite player!

I have one vivid memory on blake austin regarded the next big find at penrif. First match if i recall we played against the panthers this season & austin bombed a try against us with with the line wide open. After that moment i felt the game change & we went on to win. Banished soon after that. I hope they got this one right.

If your referring to rd 2 this year AHX, Austin played in the NSW Cup, scored 3 tries and kicked 6 goals.

but he did play first grade against us in the first game against us. I will never forget that moment.

You are going to judge a bloke by 1 mistake that he made? Good one :unamused:

where is the judgement - it was an observation. Reminded me of that trial in Gosford against Parra 2 years ago. Some young next billy the kid - got a pass, ran a bit of a way and then thumbled it over the tryline. What became of him? No not judging - how ridiculous actually - to be judging somebody by telling you a memory. Grow one.

You brought up a memory of this kid stuffing up and then finish your "observation" by saying "I hope they got this one right". Sounds like a judgement to me. Good one. :master:

its all about hope FTB - don't get too excited -

Who's getting excited? You were the one who was unsure whether he was a good player due to 1 mistake, not me. Billy Slater had a dodgy game on debut didn't he? "Hope the Storm got this one right"….....

I think Blake is a good signing. Wasn't that long ago Penrith paid an absolute fortune for him.

According to the papers $350k a year (enormous money) I suspect it is an exaggeration, it is nice to know the panthers will be paying some of one of our players contract

He is a very physical 5/8 and think he will do well for us.

Imagine after all this we go with Anasta and Brooks?

It is a possibility, at least for the first few rounds until they ease Austin into the role. It all depends on the off-season and trials and what combination the coach (hopefully Potter) prefers.
