Boedene Is What We Need

i wonder how miller would've went behind this forward pack.

great first game for the tigers by bodene. one of the best debuts for tigers since probably ellis

Maybe the issue with the forwards is they weren't being directed around the field well by Miller Prmz

Think you are on the money Happy as Anasta was giving instruction/direction to them all night and the confidence to do this (and have it excepted by the players) takes a long time to develop.

40 yards is 40 yards.

not saying he was terrible, but the praise is so over the top.

and no,i don't think he improved our pack ten fold.

I do.

Put his body on the line and inspired Pettybourne to play better than I have ever seen him.

Wise up.

I have rated Bodene all along check my earlier posts when people wanted to buy back up,I said we have a real x factor in Bodene,he just needs a chance, well done mate.

dont think that was the case tbh…all the forward took the initiative.
i hardly remember anasta using his forwards... most of his touches were one out hit up like a forward LOL... that said, i think anasta's defense is what is getting him most of the praise tbh and also his astute kicking game, plus his chase.

im not sure of anasta's attack yet... whoever is in the halves next week, really needs to work on how to break the defensive structure of the saints

attack will take a while to form.. half stability is a key to that.

Stop looking at stats. They don't measure impact.

You don't think he made a difference?

so let's look at his impact.
had no right edge presence in attack.
when bmm came on,instant presence on the right edge.stats and the eye test back it up.

bodene had a 6 yard,2 yard,6 yard and 5 yard hit up in his first stint.all ended with 2 markers and a set line.
yeah,great impact there.
took a 10 yard tap and ran with pace and also a 8 yard tap.
came on for his second stint for the last 20min and had 1 hitup.

defense by bodene was his strong point in this game and was involved in 2 tackles that resulted in spilt ball from the storm.he wasn't the leader in line speed though, the team as a whole from the kick off showed consistent intensity in the first 60min and the tone was not set because bodene was playing.

solid base to build on,but i need more to be be jumping over the moon over 40 yard stats.

Christ, nobody is jumping over the moon unless I have missed something?

I don't need stats to tell me Thompson made much more of an impact than the likes of Anasta and Fulton in previous games. Most are happy we finally have some starch in the backrow but not you?

Also given he has not played regular games in the past 12 months, I think he went very well and should only get better.

so what if most are happy and not me.
most were happy when we signed blair.
gave you stats about how average blair is and you came up with the same crap.

i've been more than fair in my analysis.

Stats can only tell half the story. Thompsons impact was on show clear as day for mine. He brought something we were missing.

Same crap? So hang on, lets get back to who is "jumping over the moon", in your words?

You are basically saying Bodene was no upgrade on Fulton and Anasta in the second row, are you not?

Deep breaths guys.

Bon wants to see more in attack from him and that is fair enough. He saw the improved defensive speed as a team wide initiative and that is a fair take as well. HT you see it differently as do I.

I think we can all agree we hope he is selected and plays a blinder Sunday afternoon

To all those who have been knocking Benji it looks now like you won't be for the next few weeks. Let's not knock any more of our players because when they're gone they're gone.

i broke down the plays and 5 and 6 yard runs that resulted in set markers and defensive lines,i don't regard that as improving our attack ten fold.
that is not impact.there was no general play impact.

when bmm took his place there was impact on the right edge.
i was more impressed with bmm on the right edge.
deal with it.

That is where you are wrong, 40m is not 40m, when and how you get them is very important.

Taking the first hit up against an advaincing defence and making 6 or 7 m and a quick PTB getting the next runner against a flat or retreating defence is more valuable than a 10 or 12 m run against a retreating defence ending up on your back and having your next runner come against a set line.

Fantasy football has people judging performance by stats alone.

Bodene took a lot of important runs against a set defence, he was fantastic tonight.
