Politicians at a football club is a big no.

They are by nature, divisive people. Half the fans will love him, the other half will detest him.

Not to mention half the corporate community, half the NRL heirarchy….half of all the other movers and shakers that have an interest somewhere in the game

Think he's more hanger on than supporter

He is an ahole of the highest order. Through stealth and retrospective regulations he has managed to deliver millions to his mates at the big end of town at the expense of those who had legally binding agreements with insurers for continuing care for serious injuries (some now even have to pay out of their own pockets for ongoing care related to severed limbs) sustained at work.

I have followed this club in its former and present guise for more than fifty years but if this man is employed by Wests Tigers I will seriously consider supporting my local team in the Hunter Valley (Cessnock Goannas) and severing my ties with Wests Tigers.

My preference is not to have tainted former politicians at the club ….... plenty of other decent and reputable business people out there to choose from.

Not only tainted, This bloke turned corruption into a necessary requirement to be a part of his government. It seem we were starting to get some good people into this club, and now we are looking at corrupt ex politicians. I don't care which party he is from . Politicians are poison at any time, let alone a corrupt one. He should be glad he wasn't nabbed for a lot of other things and not just for lying, and p#ss off.

Tell him to go join the Storm . His expertise in lying and corruption would fit in extremely with Bellamy and his cheaters.

Well Bomber doesn't have many friends on the forum,but if he were to bring in more revenue from his friends,such as sponsorship and advertising etc,would he still be disliked.?

I think linking names to corruption in the politicians ranks you would have a fair choice with names such as Obied,McDonald,Maitland..

All who have bee proven far more offensive than Bombers bottle of wine.DONT forget Bomber had the decency to resign because of his error while the others mentioned clearly deny proven FACTS…

I'd have the same opinion about any of those you mentioned, as they say "it starts at the top". And it wasn't the bottle that was the problem it was the lies he got caught out on .

Don't know about decency? He had no choice, he lied his way into a corner
At this point in time, we are starting to improve the quality of people involved with the club , that grub would be a great step backwards.

Well, he doesn't have to be corrupt, although he was caught out lying to ICAC, for me to have a strong dislike for him. His track record of overseeing a corrupt government speaks for itself.My position rests on both corruption in his government, which has been made public, plus the nasty politics described above. If he were to be employed by the Wests Tigers, I have said that I would _consider my position as a member of the club - my choice - but it doesn't necessarily mean that I'd chuck in my membership.\
