Bondi Mass Shooting

Left wing vs Right wing is about as interesting and useful as the Tigers vs Magpie. Never going to convince those at either ends.
You’re never going to shame anyone for their beliefs either. They’ll just double down. That’s why you mock them instead. No one likes being laughed at.

I'm not as convinced your every day Muslim should be required to take collective responsibility for the actions of a few. Particularly because many of those every day Muslims are in this country fleeing exactly what we saw yesterday. There is no centralised Muslim authority, so I think you overestimate the potential impact public denouncements and protests would have on the minority.

Agree anyone using violent rhetoric should be denounced and punished, and if on visas deported. I also agree that if anyone has not reported concerns when they have a legal or moral obligation to do so, they should be punished.
You've possibly missed my wider point. Seems to be a lot of Muslims condemning others for violent acts or bad ideas, but none get out of bed when something like this happens. In fact we saw pro-Hamas celebrations before Israel fired a shot.

I never said anything about collective responsibility, but much like it is widely condemned when there has been a lunatic targeting a mosque, the comments are flooded with support for the Muslim community, I don't see the same in return. Perhaps we need to start asking why?

Once a prick always a prick, left wing leaders are not good for the country.
Get rid of him,Wong and Burke to start with, then weed them out after that.
You know what Hal. I'm now of the opinion they're all bad.

Barely any of them has ever been anything other than a career politician.

The incremental erosion of the country is at the hands of both parties. Time to get some proper credentials in there to put ideology aside and do the right thing for the people that they are supposed to be serving.

Are.we sure he was an arab muslim?
Ive known Lebanese christians...two families ..neighbours when i lived in Guildford..SW Sydney...heart of middle east gangland...they were wonderful people....the muslims however
I lived in Guildford for 26 years and had both Christian and Muslim Lebanese friends , I moved out west to Penrith but worked in the building game as a supplier and had many account customers who were both Lebanese Christian and Muslim never an issue , friendly , always offering food on sites as they would say Aussie come eat some good foods , they introduced me to some of the best food around

You really should contact Benji cos I hear that he is looking to recruit a new "defend the indefensible Coach". Meanwhile, a quick look at the last election result shows a different slant on the result. https://australiainstitute.org.au/post/landslide-labor-win-out-of-proportion-to-primary-vote/
The Australian Institute, a conservative think tank!😁

PS. The preferential voting system has been in place since 1918 and you probably already guessed who introduced it! The right wing!

One was a gun club member. Both the Premier and the PM have committed to tougher gun laws. 35 Australians died at Port Arthur, and we had excellent gun laws introduced. New laws with much tougher restrictions are required. Guns are there for one purpose only.

Certain people aren't good with facts....
Labor won almost two thirds of seats despite receiving just over a third of the vote in May
Fact
2/3 of
Australian voters did not vote ALP
Fact

dazza65 Fun fact - it is called the preferential voting system. It was introduced in 1918 because the right wing didn't like the existing 'first past the post' system.

This would be a tough one to catch, guys. If these guys were lone shooters (i.e., no affiliation with any terror organisation) and it was kept within the father-son. Then what kind of communication were the police meant to catch? It was probably just discussed around the dinner table.

It's been noted that they were gun club members. We should start flagging licencing against religions found to have pockets of extremism (but may be against the law...).

Someone in the licensing association really messed up here. If any finger pointing is needed, it's there.
