Chris Minns had some reassuring words on future gun control. This is part of what he had to say -

Im sure a lot of stories are circulating atm. Not out of maliciousness, but just as a result of panic. Thankfully one of the few good things about social media is how fast news travels, and this would be everywhere by now if there was anything to it.

I saw the video leading up to the end of it when the dad got shot. Once the cops took control of the son, all hell broke loose on the bridge. Pretty sure a few guys got some licks in on the son.

I think the Dad was able to. The son was known to ASIO.
