dayuum i love being the under dog….as do the tigers

No one expects us to beat the raiders with our injuries should work psychologically in our favour.

at the start of 2005 didnt the bookies make us $151 to win the premiership? lol

or was that before our winning streak?

It was the week before we started our winning streak.

And like others I love it how everyone is writing off the tigers. We can do it! :sign:

It's reflective of a few things: the injury concerns we have coming into this game, the relatively short turnaround after such a bruising and demoralising encounter, Canberra's form and home ground advantage, and the fact that the winner has to play the best team all season just to qualify for the GF.

I think if anything it's too short. If you assume we'd be about 3.00 this week, maybe 2.80 against the saints in Sydney coming off a win, and likely no better than 1.80 in he GF, true odds would be about $15.

Strangely enough bookmakers play the odds to make betting more attractive to those with a vested interest this time of year

and that week my dad had a couple of hundred on swans/tigers double.. lets just say it payed very good.

Was your dad the guy with Centrebet who laid it off in grand final week for some huge payday? I remember reading about that.

There was another guy on the old forum who showed a screenshot of his TAB account with $500 on the Tigers @ 150 to 1 for a $75000 payday.

never over spartan. we are up against it but i truly believe that we can beat the raider down there. we were down by nearly 20 early this year and won by 12.
