@Danos said:Yep thats right Sirro. Fight was postponed, UFC was already on the Main Event calendar, so they couldn't run both events live. Yes MMA or more accurately, UFC is growing at an exponential rate and may in the future be more "popular" than boxing in terms of ppv numbers and casual fanbase. I'm personally not threatened at all, boxing will always be here, whether of not MMA can sustain this level of popularity and continue to grow all the way up to UFC 500, etc is another story. I remember back when kickboxing was going to be bigger than boxing…
It comes down to personal preference. I've seen quite a bit of UFC, my old roommates were really into it and had dozens of the DVDs, would invite mates over, crowd around the telly and go mental. But like I said, I'm not really into it. Each to their own I say, like Sirro said, plenty of room for both.

Wests Tigers congratulate boxer Daniel Geale on winning the IBF Pan Pacific middleweight title.
>
Geale is a massive Wests Tigers supporter and regularly did sparring sessions with the players throughout season 2009, both at Concord Oval and at the Grange Old School Boxing gym at Smeaton Grange.
>
Known as ‘The Real Deal’, Geale outclassed Brazil’s Samir Dos Santos Barbos to claim the vacant title. He won all 12 rounds to record a 120-108 verdict in front of his former home town.
>
Geale’s record is now 22 victories (13 Kos) for one loss. The victory now brings Geale closer to securing a rematch with Anthony Mundine.
>
Mundine recorded a controversial split decision victory over Geale for the IBO World Middleweight title in Brisbane on May 27.It was Geale's only loss to date in an outstanding career.
>
Wests Tigers looks forward to working alongside and supporting Daniel again in 2010.
>
Geale joins a long list of Wests Tigers celebrity supporters at the club including Jimmy Barnes, Anthony Field, Michael Clarke, Mark Schwarzer, Dawn Fraser and Grant Balfour to name a few.
Well can he beat the Man?
@king sirro said:Its truly amazing what Mundine has achieved, and i think people will be blinded by his personality and never really acknowledge what he's done, which is so sad. But as a long time supporter of his, i have to admit he's badly let himself down. Yes his achievments are beyond all expectation, but it could have been so much more. The guy had a period in his career when he could have matched it with the best and even beaten the best in the world. But he let that time slip, and being a reflex fighter, his time is up. You'll often find reflex fighter decline very quickly, while power fighters like Danny Green can box on for many more years. Mundine has lost that snap, and has no power anymore. His great defence will see him competitve against anybody, but he'll never reach the heights he could have.
I still maintain he's the most naturally gifted fighter this country has ever seen.
@tiger05 said:I also prefer the UFC or MMA now. Anderson Silva is a fighter who has more ability & class than Mundine will ever have. Seriously the guy is about 20 levels above most fighters (boxing or MMA) that I have seen.
@king sirro said:Anyone see some of the Green and Jones fights on 518 the last 2 days? I just caught the Jones and Lacy fight which was Roy's last fight. Wow, he was unbelievable. It was the Roy of old. I gave Green a chance on wednesday night, but if Roy fights like that, he'll win an easy decision.
Cant wait to watch the great man live. I have pretty good seats too, so it should be an awsome sight.
