Braith Anasta and Tim Moltzen set to leave the tigers ??

If we had to play one of this pair at 5/8 I would prefer Moltzen. Anasta's kicking game and his options are far less effective than I expected them to be, and as for his snail's pace defence…

Moltzen has a chance to resurrect his career there, and we need someone to play 5/8 while Moses matures. If Siro is definitely going into the backrow, then it looks like maybe Timmy is the man? Or will it be Austin??

If it's Moltzen just give me enough notice to strap myself in before a long season of Moltzen threads!

well, there ya go, be interesting to see how he goes I guess with an actual half back, assuming of course he gets the 5/8 spot

If Moltzen has decided to put his head down and work hard at earning a spot, I've got no problems with that. He has quite a bit of competition ahead of him considering Tedesco is coming along nicely,

Realistically he will be battling for 5/8th next year or tasked with becoming a utility/supersub ala Craig Wing. Our backline is overflowing with contenders so I can't see him threatening for a centre spot.

He will either be there for injury cover, or bust his nut to force his way in.

Yeah maybe with some decent organisation he'll go okay. He certainly didn't show much in the way of playmaking or organisational skills as a halfback but if he can remember to run forwards and support the forwards it could work out. So long as he's kept out of the number 1 jumper at least…

Honestly, he should be training at hooker. I would love for him to come off the bench for about 20-30 minutes each game replacing Farah. Hooker is a tough position and probably the hardest position to play, Farah cant keep playing 80 minutes every week perfectly, his attack will not be as good. He makes at least 40 tackles each game, he definitely needs a rest in the middle of games next year. Moltzen would go well at hooker and can follow the foot steps of Daniel Mortimer or can be our own James Segeyaro a little rocket out of dummy half.

If true this is indeed disturbing news. He was absolutely dreadful all year before getting injured and is the most cowardly fullback i've ever seen in Rugby League.

Putting him at 5/8 would be diabolical. He offers nothing.

Geez, Moltz seriously gets slammed here. He isn't that bad. He knows how to find the tryline and had some brilliant try savers at FB.

He would be my first choice at 6 next year, that's for sure.

At a minimum, he will be awesome depth.

I don't always have to have the same opinion as you, why should I change my thoughts just for youse on this forum, whats the point of a forum if

1\. You cant post
2\. Your posts have to be 100000% thought through
3\. Have the same opinion as everyone else

you can post, but put SOME thought into it, and obviously differing opinions are fine. But I mean…. hooker? like....seriously?

Watch segeyaro play and then compare if you haven't already seen him.

Re-signing doesnt guarantee a spot. Competition for spots is a good thing. Will keep Teddy, Braith and Austin on their toes competing for positions.

There was a bit in Zero Tackle today saying that Tigers would like to release Moltzen from his final year and that he does not have support of the senior players now that Marshall us leaving. Sorry don't know how to post links using my mobile phone.

Well that's interesting - hope we don't have to pay for another one to go and play somewhere else, it would be madness!

I agree with tig_prmz, I think Moltzen was improving before his injury, like a few others have under Potter as well. I would be happy to keep him for some depth, but I am concerned about how well he will come back after another season ending injury. He played so tentatively for so long after he came back from the first one.
