Braith Anasta and Tim Moltzen set to leave the tigers ??

My morning routine is now get myself a coffee grab the iPad login to WT Forum and read the latest list of who we are releasing, who the sharks have poached from us and what superstar is rumoured to be throwing their career away by joining the Tigers - ah what did I do before the Internet?

I had a dream last night that just before the Eels game We found out Robbie Farah was leaving. This time everyone was upset. PS my dreams never come true

I really like this clean-out. The problem with having players like Anasta here is that they get picked even though they look terrible.

Moltzen might come good but its been years and he should just go.

I think we have the juniors to do anything from what I have seen in first grade. The halves are a worry and we need a good fullback which Tedesco might become however I think we have options in the juniors and I would rather give them a go.

Its all very well to say that Anasta will get 'a tap on the shoulder'. But if the upshot of that is writing him a $200,000 cheque then nothing very much has been achieved.

Perhaps they would use him in an assistant coaching role.

i hope moltzen goes i hate him soooo much he is useless everytime he gets the ball he runs across the field and passes it. he is to scared to take a tackle

Before people get too excited, they should see the article in the SMH:

"Potter said Brooks and Braith Anasta would be the likely halves pairing next year when Curtis Sironen switches to the forwards. "I think [Brooks] is nearly ready," Potter said. "Curtis hasn't had an off-season in the gym yet because he has two 'recos' on his shoulder. Given he is well over 100 kilos and he is only 19 years old, he is probably going to head [into the forwards]."

I don't like the idea of either leaving based on the fact we will be topping up their contracts. Money wasted that we don't need to waste. (I presume both have contracts for next year).

I would prefer they are made to stay, but if they choose to leave, it wont be with our approval and hence we wont be paying them a cent.

I would honestly like to see Anasta stay on in a non playing mentor-coaching role.

I have been a big supporter of Moltzen in the down times, but I'm starting to lose my own faith and a change of scenery could be good for him.

But then again, who says any of this is true….........

I normally dont feel cool bagging players, but Anasta is just downright awful….he is up there In the Trent Runciman class for worst Tiger ever.

I dont care if we have to pay all of his contract just so we play against him.

Lol
Trent Runciman ….. There's a name from the past .... Lipina Kaufusi is my number 1 !!!

It's fair enough to say they are under performing players and they need to go but who replaces them, that is the question.
Who would want to come to a club they constantly does not honour contracts?

What was wrong with Runciman? people look at those early yrs, see some of the names and just put unfair labels on them.
If you're talking some of the worst guys to ever wear the jersey:
Fitzhenry
Kaufusi
Caine
Graham
Harris

Why do people hate Fitzhenry I don't understand?

it was Sheen's fault,he picked him at 5/8th 25 times and we won 1 or 2 of them, and Fitzy sucked in every one of them.
So the hate came from him getting picked every week reagardless of form, because he was a good trainer, there were others getting picked with similar form, but Fitzy's howlers were more prominent then the others and therefore highlighted..

I'd actually keep Moltzen if this clear-out continues. He can cover the entire backline even as 2nd or 3rd string choice when injuries occur. Sure he's a pea-heart, but he's fast and can sniff out a try. The pretenders in there now 3-7 couldn't score if they took a bag of cash to a brothel.

What's wrong with paying out a part of a contract? Would you rather us pay Anasta 200k and have him play every week, or pay him 75k, get an extra 125k for the cap, and never have to look at him again?

If he can get a contract in the UK and seeks a release then there's no reason why we would have to pay him more than 50-75k, if anything!
