There was a bit in Zero Tackle today saying that Tigers would like to release Moltzen from his final year and that he does not have support of the senior players now that Marshall us leaving. Sorry don't know how to post links using my mobile phone.

Well that's interesting - hope we don't have to pay for another one to go and play somewhere else, it would be madness!

I agree with tig_prmz, I think Moltzen was improving before his injury, like a few others have under Potter as well. I would be happy to keep him for some depth, but I am concerned about how well he will come back after another season ending injury. He played so tentatively for so long after he came back from the first one.

We wont be paying anyone anything because he confirmed on twitter his with us for the next 2 years.

That was an article linking to The NRL Lurker, which is a rumour file.

When other news outlets caught on Moltzen took to twitter to deny he was leaving, and that he would be here for another 2 years.

I like the idea of Moltzen as a utility/buck-up hooker. I understand what you meant Milky and think it could be an interesting idea. Probably more Mortimer than Segayaro, though.

I think Moltzen offers a heap more than Anasta. I would rather both find a new home, but I think Moltzen speed suits our team more than Anasta's experience.

Honestly, he should be training at hooker. I would love for him to come off the bench for about 20-30 minutes each game replacing Farah. Hooker is a tough position and probably the hardest position to play, Farah cant keep playing 80 minutes every week perfectly, his attack will not be as good. He makes at least 40 tackles each game, he definitely needs a rest in the middle of games next year. Moltzen would go well at hooker and can follow the foot steps of Daniel Mortimer or can be our own James Segeyaro a little rocket out of dummy half.

Lost for words…

I don't always have to have the same opinion as you, why should I change my thoughts just for youse on this forum, whats the point of a forum if

1\. You cant post
2\. Your posts have to be 100000% thought through
3\. Have the same opinion as everyone else

you can post, but put SOME thought into it, and obviously differing opinions are fine. But I mean…. hooker? like....seriously?

Watch segeyaro play and then compare if you haven't already seen him.

Tell that to Mr Trent Robinson when he played Daniel Mortimer a grand finalist 5/8 at hooker and it turned out to be a bloody great move. Moltzen has all the things that a hooker needs,..maybe you should put some thought in your posts 😱pen_mouth:

When we just signed Halatau and have Luani coming through, not sure that we need to concentrate any effort on Moltzen at 9.

I have no doubt that Dene Halatau will be our utility he can play hooker to he will be in first grade next year thats for sure.

Something that appears to be overlooked…We have Moltzen for another 2 years not 1...I'd be happy to see him released but not if it means we continue to pay his full or partial contract for the next 2 years....a clean debt free break or none at all....On the roster side for 2014...unless the WT NRL squad has injuries 2 deep in the 1 or 6, I can't see Moltzen making the top squad, even as a bench player....

As for Anasta I hope he realises in the offseason(unlike Lote) that he is past it and announces his retirement...he has offered nothing in 2014...

There is a first grade spot out there for Moltz - despite his many issues over the past few seasons, he has the ability to do some freakish things

Like most have said though, he'll only get a shot here now if injuries hit us. Based on this season, that could well happen!

I can see him getting a run due to injuries and hitting some form, giving us an opportunity to palm him off to another club, here or abroad. I hope it happens. Even if we have to pay some of his contract it could potentially be better than paying all of it. If Miller and Kris Keating can get a run in the UK, Tim certainly can.

Wouldn't have been re-signed under Mayer Imo

It's good for depth. If Moltz isn't good enough for FG then he won't get the call up. But should injury strike, he can cover the backline 1-7\. He's an ideal #14 if you need to carry a back.

I think he is a much better player than he gets credit for, I think he would be my first choice 6 for next year. He is better than Anasta, Sirro looks more and more a back rower, and Moses is at least a year away from a starting role on a full time basis. Although I expect him to be blooded at some point.

Is Moltzen still here ? Does he realise all his buddies have left.
What a stupid career move that was ditching St.George but then again his got the same [This word has been automatically removed]wit of a manager as Benji.

Its all very well to say that Anasta will get 'a tap on the shoulder'. But if the upshot of that is writing him a $200,000 cheque then nothing very much has been achieved.

Perhaps they would use him in an assistant coaching role.

Anasta is going to fox sports

Still be happy to pay him 200k to NOT play

THERE are more big changes happening at the Wests Tigers. Braith Anasta is under contract for next year but is likely to get a tap on the shoulder in the next fortnight. No one likes seeing a great player struggle as he has in recent times.

Fullback Tim Moltzen is also on the outer and will be given permission to look elsewhere.

This is great news!

During the medicals any competent Doc would check for a pulse… wont take em long to realise he has no heart.

Looking at Moltzen run since he had his knee reco I have a feeling it was never right. You could see he was favouring it and the way he tore it again should not have happened.

He was to scared to run the ball up and be tackled , prior to his reco this was never the case.
