I concede to your point MM - the riches I refer to are primarily in the back-row - with the majority of our depth also revolving around kids who are still developing!!
That means the majority of the so-called depth is either relatively untried or unseasoned in the top-grade!
Jason was held back in 2010 by both injury & the coach's entirely correct decision to inject some size into the rotation of our smaller back-rowers (so Junior, Simon, Andrew & Ben got the nod ahead of him)!
Their lack of experience undoubtedly played a part in losing us those two semis - but the depth is there as regards to raw talent/ability - and it will only improve in quality over time!
As for Souths - beneath their top 10 forwards (Asotasi, Taylor, Burgess, Stuart, Lowe, Luke, Crocker, Pettybourne, Geddes & Tyrrell) there is a huge chasm in quality & ability (plus they lack 80 minute high work-rate back-rowers)!!!!
We have Farah, Payten, Gibbs, Galloway, Fifita, Moors, Ellis, Heighington, Fulton, Dwyer, Flanagan, Murdoch-Masilla, Woods, Schirnack, Hyland, Akeripa & even Cayless - (17 squad members) who are either proven or talented enough to excel at the top level!!
