To all the people that are sick of excuses and reality: the only realistic option to change things next year is to cheat the salary cap and I would rather lose than cheat.

You can whine all you like but it takes time, risk and effort to get to the top.

**We cheated the cap and that didn't work either, only the we could cheat the cap while getting someone to leave.**

I get that it takes time, but you can't blame people for wanting to see improvement of the club going in the right direction. We are a big chance of finishing lower down the table than we did last year.

It could be worse, we could have cheated the cap to win the spoon like our slimey friends.

That is one of my favourite Rugby League incidents of all time.

Still makes me laugh to this day. I reckon ill get a few more years out of it too.

Yep , it’s highly plausible that the broncos and warriors could beat Souths and Manly next week , and if we win we are back in 8th.
And then it means after we hopefully beat the dogs that we have to put on our big boy pants and run the table , or as close as possible .
Sure it’s going to be tough , but I honestly reckon they can do it. This is the most talented team we have had in years . And sneakily the youngest .

I also think we can compete with the roosters and storm as we always match up well with them . The 2 games I think we are gonna struggle are the riff and Parra . I’d rather be optimistic than throwing the toys out of the cot like a lot on here. Packer and Joey , are going to add a lot . Also eisenhuth . That’s dynamism , aggression and consistency. All missing from Friday . Also the new boy should have a run as well.

See that’s the thing . You have confused optimism with acceptance . If I was coach , I would be ropable with Clark , Twal, walters Lawrence and Garner . And all the benji lovers on here , will bite my head off , but that defence was rubbish. There was no sense of urgency. From the middle out . It improved immensely when Blore and McIntyre came on , which saw a slight improve into half time . But the dudes 19 and Macca is 21. Mika clocks off at times as well .
I honestly reckon if Joey or even someone like Jennings was playing we win that game .
And if anyone thinks Walters is better than brooks you’re dreaming . He has a great running game , but he takes forever to release his pass .

It took the panthers 8years for thier 5 year premiership. And we have had too many false dawns , I acknowledge that , but it’s coming . This feels very different . And it can come as soon as this week . There’s no reason why not .

As you will see I've actually avoided most of those threads as that is not what I want to read, one or two threads of that is more than enough for me, I would love nothing more than for this team to get in the finals, I'm a supporter of the majority of them, especially our juniors. In fact I'm often criticised for defending the players too much. I'm more critical of us playing players out of position than anything else.

I also want to see improvement and won't believe its really there until it starts showing in results, just been burnt too many times, like I was last week despite trying so hard not to be. Stupidly I will be up believing again by the weekend, I will put my heart out their again to be broken because I love and believe in this team. Just after 9 years of false dawns, I bounce back a little slower than I used to.

You and tiger Steve I tend to agree with a lot on here , so it’s a bit ironic in debating with you .
I feel the sense of “Will this ever happen” as well .
But it’s just not healthy to concentrate on the bad . Not even for the team just yourself .
Like I said , not a dig , but it’s meant to be an observation . Many will tell me to shut up , and go away bla bla . Which is fine , but I know I’m right about fandom in general . That idea about fanaticism being more about the fan then the team , isn’t mine . I heard it on a podcast , and it really made reflect on what I value . And I value as a tigers fan the fact , we generally play with tigers players . Guys who were juniors , guys who love the club etc. It’s why the titans suck and always will. The bulldogs are going through that now . The knights went through it until they got some dudes who would buy into the area , whilst developing their own .

Its funny, @Tiger_Steve were talking about attachment to the club the other day, I was saying that my attachment comes from a sense of community, I grew up in the country and my attachment to footy as a kid was the local players being a part of my community, my attachment to the Tigers came because they were playing in the same colours on TV. When I started going to games that attachment really became getting to the game early and watching the younger players come through the grades and make their 1st grade debuts. A lot of that has been taken from the game nowdays and my attachment is still about community and about the people I sit around and watch games with. @Tiger_Steve and I met on here but then say near each other at Bankwest last year through chance and a bit of a sense of community has built up with him and we now catch up for a beer and attend games together, this forum also provides that sense of community as well.

I love this club, I love its players, I've met many wonderful people at games. I don't really know the point of this post lol just responding to your post mate.

That idea about fanaticism being more about the fan then the team , isn’t mine . I heard it on a podcast , and it really made reflect on what I value . And I value as a tigers fan the fact , we generally play with tigers players . Guys who were juniors , guys who love the club etc. It’s why the titans suck and always will. The bulldogs are going through that now . The knights went through it until they got some dudes who would buy into the area , whilst developing their own .

Its funny, @Tiger_Steve were talking about attachment to the club the other day, I was saying that my attachment comes from a sense of community, I grew up in the country and my attachment to footy as a kid was the local players being a part of my community, my attachment to the Tigers came because they were playing in the same colours on TV. When I started going to games that attachment really became getting to the game early and watching the younger players come through the grades and make their 1st grade debuts. A lot of that has been taken from the game nowdays and my attachment is still about community and about the people I sit around and watch games with. @Tiger_Steve and I met on here but then say near each other at Bankwest last year through chance and a bit of a sense of community has built up with him and we now catch up for a beer and attend games together, this forum also provides that sense of community as well.

I love this club, I love its players, I've met many wonderful people at games. I don't really know the point of this post lol just responding to your post mate.

Nah it’s all relative . When you concentrate on the positives , and what and why you love something , You remember what it is that put you into that position in the first place . And it recharges the batteries . We should all be doing it . Because we have a huge mountain to climb . So might as well have a Guitar around the campfire first . Because if we win this week, then , it’s about to get pretty hard on the old heart muscle

Yep , it’s highly plausible that the broncos and warriors could beat Souths and Manly next week , and if we win we are back in 8th.
And then it means after we hopefully beat the dogs that we have to put on our big boy pants and run the table , or as close as possible .
Sure it’s going to be tough , but I honestly reckon they can do it. This is the most talented team we have had in years . And sneakily the youngest .

I’ve been lurking for the last 2 weeks , and geez there’s been some wrist cutting going on . I honestly think we are better than the knights , Tohs and eagles . I also think we can compete with the roosters and storm as we always match up well with them . The 2 games I think we are gonna struggle are the riff and Parra . I’d rather be optimistic than throwing the toys out of the cot like a lot on here. Packer and Joey , are going to add a lot . Also eisenhuth . That’s dynamism , aggression and consistency. All missing from Friday . Also the new boy should have a run as well.

See that’s the thing . You have confused optimism with acceptance . If I was coach , I would be ropable with Clark , Twal, walters Lawrence and Garner . And all the benji lovers on here , will bite my head off , but that defence was rubbish. There was no sense of urgency. From the middle out . It improved immensely when Blore and McIntyre came on , which saw a slight improve into half time . But the dudes 19 and Macca is 21. Mika clocks off at times as well .
I honestly reckon if Joey or even someone like Jennings was playing we win that game .
And if anyone thinks Walters is better than brooks you’re dreaming . He has a great running game , but he takes forever to release his pass .
People will blame brooks but the game was lost before he came on . Was I furious ... of course , but it’s a real loser mentality to dwell on the past and not focus on now living up to a challenge .
It’s a tough mountain that we have to grit our teeth , and head on up . No use moaning about it . Just put one foot in front of the other .

It’s Monday dude ! You’re still carrying on . That’s what I would call chucking the toys out. People are talking about accepting spoons , getting rid of the whole team , whether we should be in the comp LOL ... that’s not criticism . It’s dropping your bundle . The team is 5-7 with a good for and against . It’s not over . It’s dig in time . Time to rip in and have a go. The talent is there . We just cannot put it together for any stretch of time . I believe in the boys . I want to win with these boys. And I want them to go on a run . And so should you .

Mate , stop it ! Go through the forum and have a read . Seriously ! My comments were directed at the general reactions . You asked a question I gave an answer . Nothing personal. There’s a general feeling that the grass is always greener . And I sometimes question how many people on here love the tigers or specifically how the tigers make them feel . Key word THEM. Eg. Luke Brooks . Hated on here ! For good reasons . For me , I think the blokes talented and more importantly a tigers junior . Same with Nofa . I want to win with our boys , because they’re tigers and love the joint as much as I do.
But some on here would get rid of them all for a team of 1 year mercenaries , if they got us to 8th. And I wouldn’t . I’d rather ride the bad times , because I strongly believe with Madge, Hartigan , Pascoe , the COE, the juniors we now have , the back room people from the awesome Social media team, to the awesome support staff with trainers and and assistant coaches that something is brewing at the tigers . It took the panthers 8years for thier 5 year premiership. And we have had too many false dawns , I acknowledge that , but it’s coming . This feels very different . And it can come as soon as this week . There’s no reason why not .

As you will see I've actually avoided most of those threads as that is not what I want to read, one or two threads of that is more than enough for me, I would love nothing more than for this team to get in the finals, I'm a supporter of the majority of them, especially our juniors. In fact I'm often criticised for defending the players too much. I'm more critical of us playing players out of position than anything else.

I also want to see improvement and won't believe its really there until it starts showing in results, just been burnt too many times, like I was last week despite trying so hard not to be. Stupidly I will be up believing again by the weekend, I will put my heart out their again to be broken because I love and believe in this team. Just after 9 years of false dawns, I bounce back a little slower than I used to.

Just catching up! Mate the community of this forum is great. Having a beer together is better - I’ve said it before. I reckon a few forum members getting together occasionally adds to the experience and will stop the personal rubbish that happens on here sometimes. By all means it’s ok to disagree but if you’ve bought each other a beer then they’ll be more respect for the person.

So, on topic: @Strongee - I get negative because I am so passionate. Because it means something to me. @cochise is the same as are many others on here. But if you go through my posts I never say player x is crap etc etc - I talk about performance, or culture, or effort collectively. Maybe I’ll say this player is down on form etc but never a personal attack. No way is it throwing the toys out of the cot. It is however incredible frustration at seeing the same mistakes played over and over again. No goal kicker, losing the clutch moments, losing to teams we should theoretically beat. And I ain’t apologising for that!
