BRET team to play Wentworthville in trial

Looks a good team there… That's a strong feeder team and new combination will have time to gel and be ready for a call up to NRL if required.

Do we feel Miller might play 2011 with BRET, instead of the 20's?

Kul,
I agree with what you are saying, but I will ask you one question, why don't WT give Wests Magpies the top 25 players in that case instead of BRET? I mean really, Ryde Eastwood have noting to do with Wests Tigers but benefit greatly through finances provided by the Wests Magpies group.
If what you are saying is correct then there is a direct bias towards BRET. That's what upsets me.
It obviously is at the point of no return and it looks like Wests Magpies will agree on one team in 2012\. I hope so anyway.

You do raise a fair point mate
why BRET over Wests?

maybe it's down to simple geography? Concord is closer to Leichhardt???
Hopefully that isn't the case. If you do get an answer then do share it

When we formed this joint venture, our members agreed to field a joint team in the NRL competition ONLY.

Where was the members vote that agreed we were going to field all of Wests Tigers contracted players with Balmain.

I'm furious at this decision!

RYDE-EASTWOOD HAVE ALWAYS BEEN IN THE BALMAIN JUNIOR COMP GENIUS!!!!!

AND THEY DON'T NEED ANY WESTS FUNDING - I CAN ASSURE YOU!!!!!

That's not true. Western Suburbs Magpies made it to the week before the Grand Final, just like BRET.

Redemption, any Wests Tigers player playing for Balmain -Ryde Eastwood is owned 50% by the Wests Magpies. That's why it should be a 50% split. West pay the same as to what Balmain pay. So Ryde Eastwood have coin, good on them. Balmain don't but yet have blokes sitting on their bench who are top class players. Wests can't even finalize a squad !!

We didnt have to wait long for the 2011 Quote of the Year!!! :blah :blah :roll

When I first saw that team I thought - that's a real strong Balmain team. I didn't process at first that it had also been bolstered by quality Magpies players. I'm a BRET fan, I go to their games and don't really travel to see the Magpies, so it's in my interest to shut up and just accept the good luck we've been given but I know if the shoe was on the other foot - no matter the long term desire of Wests Tigers to have one State Cup team - I wouldn't be happy either. Magpies supporters have every right to be up in arms.

In life you have to prioritise things and im sure we all agree the main priority here is Wests Tigers. But for some reason, some at Wests Magpies dont see it this way. Its time these old fuddy duddy's realise that the future is our kids and our kids dont care about Balmain or Wests, they care about Wests Tigers. Yes its sad to a degree, but like i said, you have to look after the number one priority and once thats done, then work down the list to the next priority. By denying a joint State Cup team, the Magpies are neglecting the main issue, and therefore, now suffering the consequences.

Dunno what everyone is sooking about.
BRET are current WORLD champions. Why would any player not want to better their career by joining a team who holds a current WORLD title and play alongside WORLD champions to improve their own footy and an increased chance to make 1sts??
It's no secret Sheens has plenty of faith in a very successful coach such as Paul Fletcher. Even so much, he even gave him charge of the squad up in Townsville.
Sheens can't be in two places at once thoughout most of the year to watch BOTH Tigers and Magpies State Cup matches to see who the consistent improvers are. He takes massive risks to call a player into the top grade by what other people at the games tell him on who is doing well…

Dunno why anyone wouldn't want what's best for the players anyway. Putting better players alongside each other can only breed tougher competition and bring out a player's best, instead of having a couple of shining lights play alongside average nuffies and having to carry a team.

So all you selfish whingers should get a grip and face it.

These players are making a decision to give themselves the best chance of getting to where they want to be. If they were as loyal or passionate as some of you blokes claim you are, then they can make the decision for themselves to stay at Wests and keep their 12 supporters happy. No loss to BRET either way...

If the shoe was on the other foot, i would not hesitate for one second to wish the best for the players and their decisions...

Magpies so-called fans want to stand alone....then die by the sword is all i can say...

Well said KS!!
Wests so-called fans are like the nagging wives who wonder why their husbands prefer to stay back at work than to go home to a peaceful surrounding. No wonder so many people hate going out to Campbelltown…
Blah blah blah 50% this 50% that....
just like the missus who sits on her bum all day and watches soaps and demands half the house and income is hers whilst hubby is slaving his life away. Don't like it...then get out or shut up!!
