Arona and the three ex Wests & BRET players are the only ones I would be concerned about.

Wish I could make it out there today but look forward to hearing how it goes if anyone can post a match report

Apparantly won 19 - 18 in a very scrappy game with a few injuries. I know nothing more than that though

Apparantly not too severe.

New winger has an injury, Parata a rolled angle and Flanagan a concussion

did sam latu play, and if so how did he go?

Yes, he did and he was good. Very elusive!

I saw most of the game but not a big fan of Henson, too far away from the field, couldn't see what was going on most of the time. It didn't help that nobody knew who was in the team, either. The Shirnack boys played along with Matty Ryan, Sean Meaney, Mark Flanagan, Jake Clarke(?), Eloni Vunakece, Parata, Jared Farlow(?), Rhys Curran, Junior Moors, Jake Mullaney was fullback.

Jake Mullaney scored a try and kicked 3 from 3, the last one was a beauty against a strong gusty wind, which sprung up in the last 20 mins. I think he might have also kicked the winning field goal in the dying seconds of the game? Not sure. I really hope Jake can bulk up a lot, he looked very small out there. I was scared for him every time he ran the ball back!

I think Flanagan got tipped on his head, resulting in a Newtown sin bin/send off (not sure which). Flanagan played no further part in the game.

As Smeg mentioned, it was a very scrappy game with lots of interchanges.

Tim Sheens was there.

meany kicked the field goal.Roosters centre Francis Vaiotu put flanagan on his head and got marched for his efforts..

Thanks Mrs T for your on ground report…it looks like BRET might have a lot of work to do to get back into the rhythm of last year.
Do you know who has taken over the Captain role since Leeroy has retired ?

meany, i believe

Thanks Tomcat….interesting to see how he is going to control that fiery temper of his and his relation ship with the men with the whistle ....Love the guy , but I thought Farlow would have been better suited

yeah your right . looks like Mullaney has pinched the fullback roll, not sure how Meany will handle 5/8th time will tell i guess.

I think Blake Lazarus is really going to be missed, and, it was just weird without Leeroy on the wing! :frowning:
