It would have been useful if the Police had taken a blood alcohol level on Stewart at the scene but I am not aware if it is in their rights to do so as he wasn't in control of a motor vehicle
But what his his alcohol level have to do with proving the truth one way or the other?

I assume channel 9 offered the young girl the opportunity to an interview as well to hear her side.
PR exercise, nothing less. My wife scoffed at the thought he "felt for the young girl." Complete garbage.

@hammertime said:I'm amazed at people who always assume that the bloke is at fault with these things.
For me, its scary to think that we now live in a society where any girl has the power to make those claims and immediately people jump on that bandwagon. A large chunk of Bretts life is ruined here and he may not have done anything at all. **There certainly was more than enough doubts about the credibility of the girl and the father in this story to cause reasonable doubt.**
It's terrible that people still assume this bloke is scum after being acquitted…. outside the fact he plays for Manly.

However, there have been so many sexual assault charges levelled at footballers, from various codes over the past few years, and not one of them has ever been found guilty! And, most likely, they never will be. I don't know why they even bother having the trials. Surely not _all_ of the alleged victims are liars.
