Bring back Hodgson as an assistant coach

Head or Payten are the ones we should target.

I'm sure I read that Head has gone to the Warriors for 2016.
And I can't see Payten re-joing us while Taylor is pushing his broom through the joint.

[quote="foreveratiger" …anyone can put a better game plan than 5 tackles Bomb that we have seen.

I will always remember that Campbelltown game game for all the very wrong reasons.
Wests Tigers have never been a boring team to watch, with that "WOW" factor always not too far away.
Until "that night!"

And to then hear the coach in his post match interview seemingly fail to even be aware of the travesty of a game that it portrayed for rugby league, our club, its players, and us as fans!

(And yes, we all crave success, we want normal footy in September as part of our focus, BUT supposedly that was why we have a coach to lead us there…......... )

Was that the Post match interview where he said results don't matter ?

Not then that I recall FT, but it was his indifference to the sort of game we played, him highlighting how we were in the game till the end etc all positive with the Wests Tigers players and their approach - as if it was all AOK, when every man and his dog watching the game questioned how a team could play like that…....

Cheers mate .

Its going to be interesting come round 1 next yr how many of JT's critics will actually be cheering his team to victory.

I don't believe that any coach is without criticism, from the leading club to the cellar-dwellar.
All clubs have fans who make judgements about the performance of their team.

Jason Taylor is, from where I sit, under the same scrutiny as all coaches before him.

And success always cures a million ills.

Time will tell.

I have my doubts. I strongly believe whatever success comes of the next 2 yrs will be attributed to the playing group. JT will cop the failures.

Hodgson is in my Top 5 favourite Wests Tigers players of all time .
Had the privilege to meet him personally in 2007 a fantastic Human being with nothing being to much trouble.
I never quite understood why the Club let him go so early in his Career , then he went to the Super League and absolutely killed it .

Spot on FT. A great player and a great human. All heart.

What is a lot more interesting is how long the spin from JT and his supporters continues and when it will stop.

On the topic of Hodgo. I would love to have a classy guy who was a great Wests Tigers player and who is also doing an apprenticeship in coaching at a high level right now come and take over when he is ready.

Hodgo ticks all the boxes.

Very well said Tiger one. We'll give credit where credit is due.

Re Hodgo, great idea MacDougall he's all class. But I'd wait till the white ant has moved on so Hodgo doesn't end up another casualty.

Are you including the ones who have threatened to throw their memberships in the bin?

I am. I don't know them personally however I think they support the Tigers.

Like I said earlier the interesting question is when the spin from JT and his supporters will stop. Will there be any recognition of how bad he has been ?

I've already recognized how poor he's been at times and the unnecessary steps he's taken re game plans. I've been critical of him for the majority of the yr, i have no issues admitting that. But lets put it into perspective. He hasn't had the luxury of having the exact side he wants thanks to the salary cap. And any coach who'd have taken this role on would have been in the same position re the roster.

On Hodgo, great player, great guy, and when his time to go came he handled to with class and didn't so much as ask why. But all that isn't always going to equate to being a great coach. I think Macca nailed it on his first sentence. Its a sentimental thing.

Its good to see you admit how poor he has been. The question is would any other coach have done better with the roster that we have. I think so.

Fair call but he has the professionalism of a coach and I read an article that said he'd got all his coaching credentials while he was here playing so he's intended to do it for some time. Dennis Betts rates him highly as an assistant.

It is possible for one to support the club and Taylor's decision on Farah…. Yet still be critical of his coaching... While accepting it is what it is and is what we are stuck with

Its immature and divisive to assume otherwise

I think its definitely possible to do everything that you have stated. I have no idea who is being immature and divisive though. I assume you mean the blind JT supporters who support everything JT has done plus say he has done a good job coaching this season. You might mean yourself. I don't know. I think tapping Farah on the shoulder was probably the right thing to do but it should have been handled a lot better. I think his coaching has been terrible.
