I don't mind a bit of candy either

But how about something different

Pull a members name \number out and if they can kick a goal from 30 out or a 40/20 they get a signed Tigers jersey

Or if it is a lady , she has to dig around to find something in a container full of slime or cockroaches .

Who gives a stuff. Theres enough eye candy in the stands to keep me happy

Yeah,a lot of guys that love Metallica.

U'd be in heaven…..

Speaking from experience Simon? wouldn't have taken you for being into male Metallica fans, but i guess we all let something slip about ourselves on here from time to time

i give the best bj's to metallica supporters something about the music that makes me a tiger

I love the cheerleaders…cant stand watching under 6's play or ridiculous relays....scantily clad women all the way!

Some women are less interested in the game and more interested in watching the boys run around.
I’m all for equality, but not for hypocrisy. There’s eye candy for the girls why not for the guys.

I don't see anything wrong with just keeping the stunt team and bringing back the cheerleaders. They can take turns swapping sides of the field.

Only problem we will have is who will be in the 1st grade and who will be in the reserves dressing room

Don't forget kids go to watch the game too!
I would bring up body image and the inherent dangers for girls…but most of us know about those.
The players on the field are trained athletes.......I see a difference there.

Cheerleaders arent coke sniffing, wafer thin, models with eating disorders…they are fit and healthy young women. So for young women they should be seen as role models.

I'm not sure I see the cheerleaders as fit either - some of them definitely look healthy and I like that. Nothing like a little pot belly on a woman.

Firstly, I should ay that I think there is a degree of athleticism in the routines the cheergirls do, I am not knocking that. And, no they are not the runway model look, more the fake tan, Jersey Shore look, which still smacks of unrealistic body image.
The moment they walk around the perimeter of the ground geeing up the crowd they loose any "role model" status with me.
Won't harp on, but personal experience leads me to think there may be other options for entertainment that are "healthier".

Everywhere you look there are "inappropriate" role models. Better off teaching a child to accept responsibility for their own choices than worrying about who may or may not influence them 'cause that is a worry that will never end.

Bring back the cheergirls. Love them.

So by that logic, does watching all these professional athletes running around give young boys false hope of being able to do the same thing when they grow up? you remind me of Helen Lovejoy

wow, bordering on tetchy in parts here!

personally, i certainly have no problem with hot cheerleaders!! just being honest - im a man who likes to look at good looking women…is that so wrong?! i was just born like this dammit!!

seriously though, i dont get to games (being in Perth) but have always loved the idea of kids games at half time. having done that over here in my childhood (yes... afl....) i know it was a huge buzz and gives kids a glimpse of a dream coming true.

+1, not sure why we can't have the cheerleaders and let the kids have their games at half time. There is plenty of room for both.
