Brodie Croft

Are Croft and Sezer part of the WTs very aggressive recruitment programme mentioned by the chair? If they form part of it the programme is about as aggressive as a wet lettuce. It's the club's prerogative to move along a player but when the decision was made to make the low ball offer to Brooks, whomever made that decision surely had better players than Sezer and Croft as targets?
"Aggressive recruitment programme" is just spin by the higher ups so it makes it sounds like they know what they're doing.

Haters are gonna hate, but I've watched a fair bit of the kid over the past 2 years and he's been good, real good.
We'll be lucky to get him.
Hopefully if we do get him he'll be used as a running 6 and not turned into a controlling halfback which is what he is not and never will be. Given our history with Brooks etc, afraid we'll do exactly that

Brodie Croft would be a decent pickup. 5/8 preffered or Halfback and with Wakeham (who if he fills a position, it's 7) he could go 5/8.

Aiden Sezer I truly do not get. Aiden is unwanted in Superleague. He wasn't wanted in the NRL in 2019.

Why don't we try to snipe say Sam Walker or a halfback trying to break first grade if we are reaching that low? We need a real halfback solution and ofcourse we gave Hastings (an ok/good) to Newcastle...

I just don't want us signing Hasbeen's as this has not worked for us.

Clear upgrade? I don’t think so, just more of the same, imo. Was in the Storm system, famous for turning bog average players into stars, but he never improved above average, played even worse with the Broncos. If Bellamy couldn’t improve his game then I doubt Sheens or Benji could, but that’s just my opinion.
To be fair I think a post smeared in shit has more talent than Brooks, so its not a high bench mark.

I was going to reply to the post above but might as well cover both.
Sezer is an experienced game manager. That’s what he brings. Croft has the potential to grow into a halfback as he always was a game manager in his junior years, though the Sezer signing enables him to get back into the NRL without the pressure of having to run a team. Honestly it could work as a combo.

I believe spending $ on Fainu is also an investment in the backs outside of him. Tupou hardly saw the ball tonight with Talau and Smith inside of him. I'm sure Bula would appreciate the help. Bring in a 5/8 who will give him the ball and also a centre who won't leave him stranded in defence.

And its attitude’s like that that will keep us at the bottom of the ladder till the next ice age
I'm not a Brodie Croft fan, but if I have to choose between Brodie and another 12 months of Wakeham, then I choose Brodie. Wakeham is abysmal except his goal kicking.

I'd prefer to have the attitude of signing the Munsters, Moses and Latrells of the world, but obviously that just isn't working out.
