Brooks and Tedesco combination set for greatness,

this is only the fourth game they have played together.

Sure, 4th NRL game, but how many U20s or other games have they played together???

I think by the time Brooks come into the 20s, Tedesco was already in first grade/injured. I don't think they played any U20 games together. Brooks is a few years younger than Tedesco.

**Clubs are trying to get other clubs to pay overs for players so they can target other players that might come on to the market**

Adam Blair is the perfect example , the Roosters kept chasing Blair and forcing his price up as he was the best forward on the market left

So who signed the next big thing that came on the market , the Roosters with SBW

Possibly the Roosters will drive the price up on teddy as they might want to target another Tigers player who will fill a void for another player they will lose

So who will the Roosters lose in the coming season Mini and SBW

RTS will take Mini's spot , so that leaves a backrower and a winger

And who will be off contract for the Tigers in the next 2 seasons ??

Nofoaluma , Sironen and BMM

Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few months Hopefully we keep the ones we want

Thats what makes me think this whole thing is smoke and mirrors to take the attention off Nofoaluma. It would make more sense for the Roosters to sign him, especially if RTS will play fb next yr, they're gonna need a winger.

The article makes a good argument for why the Roosters aren't interested, but its not saying he's going to re-sign either.

Not only do they have RTS, but they also have Letrobbe Mitchell (spelling I think is right haha) who they expecting huge things from. Just like the outside back they have who is injured at the moment, Moga.

I'm not so worried about the roosters getting Tedesco. I think his manager is doing a good job. I'd be a little concerned about the dogs. They seem to get third-party agreements for their new recruits that take a bit of the slack. I don't think they'll look to sign Williams on the same money again either with the rest of the forward talent they have.

Brooks and Teddy certainly never played together in NYC or NSW Cup.

That recent article is even less credible than Buzz's unfortunately. Anything from 'theroar' is an opinion piece by a fan. Most of whom are passionate and one eyed fans who most certainly aren't in the know, thought there might be a couple of writers there who are to a certain degree.

Although i do agree with it's sentiments. Roosters don't need Teddy. Nofo, perhaps. Or maybe even Koro, who knows. They also have Hastings coming through the ranks but i think Moga won't play much NRL with them again - body can't take it.

Contracts don't just get signed in a matter of minutes. At present Teddy's value is going up with every week that passes. It's not in his best interest to sign a contract before the season started, or even now. He could add an extra 50-100k a year to his price with standout performances and that's more than most people make in a year, so its not to be scoffed at. His agent will try get him the best deal he can. That includes playing things out in the media, starting rumours etc as long as it pushes up his price!

Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if most of this media noise is just to get the Tigers to up their price. Tedesco is only doing himself favours by not yet committing and playing great each week.

Mind you, if he goes down injured, the plan backfires. PLENTY of players are at their best when contracts are on the line, hello Bronson Harrison.

That's a gamble Teddy and Ayoub are obviously willing to take. If he goes down injured his pay check gets at least halved…

Signing a couple of months into the season gives him enough time to impress and hopefully not get injured from their pov.

I wouldn't' be surprised if agents and journos were often in cahoots with these rumours. Agents get more publicity and perhaps a better price for their player while journos get more clicks on their websites which improves their popularity and looks better for advertisers. They don't have much to lose by spruiking false gossip - neither job is held in much respect for its integrity these days.

Teddy is driving his price up and good on him,but if he does his knee again(and I hope he never does) then his price will fall dramatically,so it is still a risk for Teddy and his manager to keep holding out.

The same risk any other player faces every week 851

Understand what your saying , but if we worried about what if's we wouldn't have resigned Woods and if Woods has already used the stem cell surgery that many have said , it would be a far greater concern that Teddy's knee would be

Remember Todd Payten had stem cell surgery and it failed and he had to retire because of it

As good as Tedesco is and as good as he will be, I don't want to see this club put itself in a position where, because they sign Tedesco, they can't afford to keep a number of other rising stars. He should be offered what we can afford, with other contracts in mind and as with Benji, if he walks, he walks. My own view of this is that I dearly hope he stays at the Wests Tigers where the future looks so exciting.

I don't think he will go anywhere, Ayoub just wants to up the price with the club he wants to stay at. Who wouldn't want to run outside Brooks and be spoon fed tries every week for years to come?

The combination shows great prospects for the future. Lets hope the powers that be can retain them both. LB has come out and said Teddy should be retained as a matter of urgency. Now its up to whoever it is that calls the shots to keep them both.
