It really depends...I think madden will be better off in Reggie’s to learn his trade...grub cannot be in the halves that’s for sure...for me it comes down to Mbye or doueihi...I think both would combine well with brooks....if we sign the fox and he kills it at fb then Mbye becomes my 6 if not Mbye to FB doueihi to 6

I reckon Mbye is first choice, Reynolds second. AD is too good in centre and Talau is hopeless there. We have a bunch of average options and gotta pick the least crap of them.

Brooks need to improve massively in try assists, kicking game, passing (cut out passes etc). Being able to break the line sometimes would be rad. I'm nervous for the man. With it likely being Mbye or similar they aren't famous for try assists either and Brooks will be leading our attack every game for the season.

Still shocked he doesn't throw a good spiral pass(pretty easy to learn you'd thunk). The harbour bridge floaters just don't cut the mustard any more...

IMO the harbour bridge passes are deliberate. Ive noticed a massive increase in them this year across all of the games and all teams, seems a deliberate tactic. I think it counteracts the outside backs rushing up and in and reduces the risk of the interceptfrom the spiral.

its not like he has anyone in the team to learn it from? /s

He's my choice for 6 next season.

He was bought here to be our long term 6, but then Benji got another year and he was given first crack at fullback, so it makes perfect sense to play him there

Benji was signed before Doueihi

Doueihi was bought to replace Benji at 6

Not for 2020

Maybe not, but he was our long term 6, and he should be playing there, Benji should have been watching Doueihi play 6 for quite a while now

Doueihi was bought as a fullback for 2020 with the option of moving him to 5/8th in 2021. I think 2020 has shown he is a centre and is not a fullback or 5/8th

He played all his juniors at five eight, if he wasn't a 6 why didn't one of his junior coaches move him, and why did Bennett tell him he was going to be souths 6, they can't all be wrong

Curtis Sironen was a 6 in the juniors as well, Bennett thought he would be so good in the 6 he released him early.

When did Bennett even coach Curtis, let alone release him early, he played here then went to Manly

Sorry, 2 seperate points, Curits Sironen was a 5/8th as a junior and Bennett thought Doueihi was such a good 6 that he released him from Souths

Bennett, had an origin player at 6 and test player at 1, hardly a fair call to say he didn't rate Doueihi because he released him, you can't stock pile players unles you are the roosters

A 1 he just bought to replace Doueihi, who he had told would have 1st shot at the 1

A fullback who quite a number of teams tried to sign, headed by us, a very poor comparison to support your argument that Doueihi is not a 6.
Easts let Pearce go to sign Cronk, and Pearce is an origin half, doesn't mean Pearce is no good at 7

No they are not my reasons for why he isn't a half was just countering your claims that he was a good 6 because he played there in the juniors, so did Sironen. The other claim was Bennett told him he was a 6 but then turned around and released him so both those arguments lose weight.

The reason I believe he is a centre and not a 5/8th is a combination of his running and passing games, he is awkward when chiming into the line, he has awesome footwork at the line which is a true asset but it makes it difficult for the backline to time their run of him. His passing game while good at times is inconsistent and he appears to lack a spiral pass to move the ball quickly. These are only my observations but that is the reason for my opinion.

Are you onboard with my opinion now, Benji was holding us back, Doueihi is a 6 and he and Brooks can work together, and work well, the coaches weren't wrong

Musgrove and McIntyre.

Play with an 8 man pack.

Put 2 props and 2 backrow forwards on the bench. Allows the forwards to go hell for leather for 80 minutes. Anyone can take a kick on the 5th tackle. It couldnt possibly be any worse then what gets dished up by the current halves on the 5th.

I reckon have a whole team of fast, strong ball playing 2nd rowers.

Ive legit thought about that for ages. Just have a team fully made up of super fit 2nd rowers and centres. A few of which can ball play and kick.

I like how Johns said last night when 3 players were in the bin that the game was 100 years old, the players have gotten bigger, stronger faster yet it remains 13 a side. I think it would be a great spectacle of a game if it was reduced to 11 or 12 a side. Open field, scoring all over the place, would certainly change the shape of players to being more in the 2nd rower/centre build across the park.

It's called the warriors of a few years back.

Am happy with brooks/ad being our first choice halves pairing next year...my only concern is composure which brooks has never had. But that 2nd half definitely debunked the “where our are points coming from next year” myth

Our biggest worry, once again heading into next year seems to be defense

Certainly was good to see we can still score.

Now we have just removed a speed bump with minimal downside

I was quite impressed by him tonight, he is a better 5/8th than fullback. He was throwing a nice spiral pass tonight which allowed him to move the ball well. I really liked the bomb he put up. Would still like to see him improve his defence and consistency when passing but I would be very happy to give him a shot at 5/8th next year.

The sad thing is AD was even worse in defence than Benji. However, he probably hasn’t trained there so I’m confident with an off season there he’ll be fine.

There is only one option after our last game and that is Doueihi. He should be captain as well.

Defence will get better with coaching and practice. Brooks was a terrible defender when he started but learned how to and is now very good in that regard.

Douehi is a 6 and a very reliable backup for fullback

His passing game is amazing and his kicks are so much better than the bombs up into trees that luke does

Doueihi has good bombs, excellent cutout passing and a solid running game

Defence was iffy but he’s played fullback all season so he can be given time to fix it

All he’s gotta do is work on short kicking and passing and he’ll be a very handy 5/8

I’m praying brooks continues this little run of decent form he’s got towards the end of the season. He played like 2018/2019 brooks last night it was excellent

Agreed. The other thing to remember is that defensively you need to know how to work as a unit and develop a combination with your inside and outside men. Bit hard to judge him as five eight when he is defending at full back.

AD is a five eight. He played 5/8 throughout his juniors and was made a fullback because of his fill in performance at the Rabbitohs at fullback. He played very good in 5/8 last night, especially when you consider he hasn’t trained with our team in that position.

1. Ado-Carr
6. AD
7. Brooks
9. Grant (I am praying Smith goes another year)

This will also justify their price tags especial Fox and AD
