He's my choice for 6 next season.
He was bought here to be our long term 6, but then Benji got another year and he was given first crack at fullback, so it makes perfect sense to play him there
Benji was signed before Doueihi
Doueihi was bought to replace Benji at 6
Not for 2020
Maybe not, but he was our long term 6, and he should be playing there, Benji should have been watching Doueihi play 6 for quite a while now
Doueihi was bought as a fullback for 2020 with the option of moving him to 5/8th in 2021. I think 2020 has shown he is a centre and is not a fullback or 5/8th
He played all his juniors at five eight, if he wasn't a 6 why didn't one of his junior coaches move him, and why did Bennett tell him he was going to be souths 6, they can't all be wrong
Curtis Sironen was a 6 in the juniors as well, Bennett thought he would be so good in the 6 he released him early.
When did Bennett even coach Curtis, let alone release him early, he played here then went to Manly
Sorry, 2 seperate points, Curits Sironen was a 5/8th as a junior and Bennett thought Doueihi was such a good 6 that he released him from Souths
Bennett, had an origin player at 6 and test player at 1, hardly a fair call to say he didn't rate Doueihi because he released him, you can't stock pile players unles you are the roosters
A 1 he just bought to replace Doueihi, who he had told would have 1st shot at the 1
A fullback who quite a number of teams tried to sign, headed by us, a very poor comparison to support your argument that Doueihi is not a 6.
Easts let Pearce go to sign Cronk, and Pearce is an origin half, doesn't mean Pearce is no good at 7
No they are not my reasons for why he isn't a half was just countering your claims that he was a good 6 because he played there in the juniors, so did Sironen. The other claim was Bennett told him he was a 6 but then turned around and released him so both those arguments lose weight.
The reason I believe he is a centre and not a 5/8th is a combination of his running and passing games, he is awkward when chiming into the line, he has awesome footwork at the line which is a true asset but it makes it difficult for the backline to time their run of him. His passing game while good at times is inconsistent and he appears to lack a spiral pass to move the ball quickly. These are only my observations but that is the reason for my opinion.
Are you onboard with my opinion now, Benji was holding us back, Doueihi is a 6 and he and Brooks can work together, and work well, the coaches weren't wrong
Am happy with brooks/ad being our first choice halves pairing next year...my only concern is composure which brooks has never had. But that 2nd half definitely debunked the “where our are points coming from next year” myth
Our biggest worry, once again heading into next year seems to be defense
Certainly was good to see we can still score.
Now we have just removed a speed bump with minimal downside
