Brooks is coming across like a dead set legend here. I love the kid. He has endless goodwill now.

I'm happy Brooks genuinely wants to stay at the club but would any team have paid that much to sign him besides the Tigers? Is he really worth that much at 70 games? I doubt Nathan Cleary is on that and he's head and shoulders above Brooks in all aspects of the game.
I hope the decision makers took into consideration that the coaches will need to completely start again with his defence. It's not anywhere near NRL standard. He needs to focus completely on that part of his game. It won't matter how good his attack is if he can't tackle. Once this is fixed I'm confident Brooks can become a fantastic player for us.

Brooks having no interest is a fallacy perpetuated by out of school forum talk. He was probably the easiest of the 4 to be lured away by minimal dollars as he is still highly regarded despite his performance of late.
Mbye almost hung Des… locked in for 700ish and has no real prospect of getting any better.

Is Woods as dumb as he looks and sounds? I swear sometimes he plays it up for the media and to look cool and hip rather than like some stiff know-it-all. Or else he really is when it comes to what's happening behind the scenes regarding player/coach signings, cause HE would theoretically be bgetting his name on the line first, not Brooks, Teddy, Chee Kam, McQueen or Suli - HE is the big-haired and big-hearted Tiger that people want to play with, right?
Melbourne was always "big three" - Smith, Cronk, Slater (may only be Smithy next year) with Bellamy as their fourth, but player fourths seemed to shift over the years from Inglis to Blair to Widdop to Hoffman and now to Bromwich.

Brooks should spend the time he is injured in the coaches box next to Ivan getting an understanding of how the coach expects the side to play and understanding exactly what his role in that is over the next 2.5 years

This ^ bugs me. Why? Because he got Jason Taylor as coach. Everyone attacks Taylor, ok with this start of the season fair enough. He clearly did not fix our defense or our physical fitness. However Taylor was recommended by people who saw him work with Easts. Easts have refined Mitchell Pierce (why isn't he in orange and black? IMHO the halfback we were missing to pair Marshall) and Maloney into awesome attacking machines (ok at least at club level). Taylor was heavily involved with this.
Ok Cleary has clearly been working with his son Cleary. His son has become a fine Halfback, so he can do some work. But will Ivan be better then Jason when Jason could develop Halves at East? I don't know, all I know for such a good goal kicker Jason could not develop one within our ranks! So hopefully the problem was all JT.

Moses I honestly couldn't care less but if Parra want him. They show us the money and a stipulation in the contract. He can't play against us this year.
