a lot of people saying that Brooks isn't a matchwinner, when he slotted a field goal with a minute to go against the Dogs, put a pinpoint kick through to Doueihi for us to beat Manly, and if it wasn't for a cracking tackle from Gutherson he put Garner into space with 4 minutes to go against Parra. when the game is on the line he can do it, Moses on the other hand is nowhere to be found. give him a preseason without Marshall and with Liddle giving him quick, quality ball from acting half and watch how he improves.

I like your support of him, and I agree he can finish games and isn't someone who panics in important moments, but if you compare him to Cleary he can't consistently sustain a strong kicking game or make good decisions all the time so for that reason I don't think he's someone who can lift a team, or guide them and therefore he's not a matchwinner. I just think DCE and Cleary and Keary and probably Whighton now, just have that ability to control a game and step up at decisive moments. It's not really a criticism of Brooks to say he isn't that, so few players are, but he too often fluffs a kick in attacking position or throws a hospital pass when we have the advantage or doesn't find space in his clearing kicks. I think he has all the skills, he just doesn't have that mindset, that desire that the other players have.

I have no doubt his 5th tackle options this year have been well below par. if we are to be competitive next year he has to improve his game management or we'll find ourselves in the same position yet again. he needs to improve that massively. as for being a game breaker like a Wighton or Keary I think that's the top step into being the elite. Brooks would have to have a stellar year next year and then build off that again to enter that upper echelon, whether he can do that is up to him, because as you said it's not an issue with skill, it's an issue with desire.

Brooks was loyal to stay and Moses got what he deserved last night bundled out in straight sets.

Neither player has lived up to expectations from both clubs and expectations on themselves, only player to do this is Tedesco.

No, Papenhuyzen has been simply outstanding and imo is our best junior we have let slip.

Papenhuyzen never played any 1st grade with us so you really can't call him WT player, agree we let slip would have solved a fullback issue now and we have a history of developing fullbacks for other clubs.

He was in the lower grades! Of course he is one of ours and imo will be the biggest bungle this club has made.

You bring him up in almost every thread.

I didn't raise the issue. Did you read the SMH article?

In this thread you did, @Tigerbuck63 posted that Teddy was the only player to live up to expectations and didn't mention paps at all as his post wasn't about that. Then for some reason you respond with a post about paps.

That's right he didn't mention him and that was my point.

Which is my point, it had nothing to do with the discussion, but you raised it anyway. Can you you please stop derailing threads.

The discussion concerned Moses v Brooks. A comment was made that Tedesco was the only player to live up to expectations, yet that is fine. Let's have some consistency h

There was an interview with Moses re Staying at the Tigers. He said "it doesn't matter that much to me".

Once that was said, it stuck with me. No hard feelings, no bitterness, but our club should not have tried to hang onto him.

Brooks, however is loyal and seems to have Tiger blood. He certainly can play, but he is not a game organizer or a halfback like Cooper Cronk keeping people in their place. Even Moses is better then him in this respect.

Shift Brooks to 5/8. Hire a Chad Townsend or basic half while giving Brooks space to roam.

A bit late to be shifting Brooks to 5/8 imo. We have options there he needs to step up at 7 or step off, he has had years to come good.

The fact that Brooks is complete and utter 3rd rate garbage that will never take the Tigers to the finals, id say Moses is better. Much better.

Bring in the mediocrity accepting fans and downvote away instead of acknowledging reality. That'll work. Im sure Brooks will do the job next year, or the year after, or the year after.

What’s Moses ever done?

Nothing much, just was the half back of a team that made the finals. Infinitely more credible as a player than Luke 'head like a funko pop doll, never lead a team to the finals in 7 seasons, always next year, meh potential, the next Andrew Johns" Brooks.

So being the halfback of the year in a dud team has no credibility??? Considering the field contained pearce, cherry evans, reynolds, johnson, cronk and thurston......

You answered your own question on the credibility of Dally M half of the year when you mentioned all the ones he beat (and you missed a few)

so you're saying effectively the award means nothing?

Like the Nobel Peace Prize. Its meaningless.

Unless you win it.....then it has meaning.....

I doubt all the halfbacks that have won it think of it as meaningless

Yeah, they probably have massive egos that think they should have won it. ITs their birth right. Meanwhile, putting in an effort to win a few games of footy and go into the finals would be nice for your supporters on a decade drought.

Yeah you're right....I guess Brooks has never put in any effort and people voting him as the best in a meaningless vote vindicates that....

But then again it's his birthright...**.2018 was just his turn.....**

Exactly. Is sure wasnt for his footy.

You're saying Brooks was no good when he won his award?

Im saying Brooks has played literally 5 good games in a 145 game career. Putrid player that wouldnt get a start as a half back in Muswellbrook Group 21. Thats how much i think of him. The only evidence i can produce is his appalling percentage of win/loss ratio and finals played.

= garbage.

Well doesn't say much about your ethics when you support a "Tanker"

Undermines every supposedly credible word you tried to put forward on his behalf.

Let alone that he chokes at the drop of a hat. - he is nothing more than a pathetic little sook.

I am a facts person. Moses has played finals and Brooks hasn't. As I want my team to play finals every year my pick sorely on facts is Moses. I don't like Moses but can't ignore facts. Storm to win Grand Final. P.S enjoyed when his kick hit posts then Rabbits scored. 8 point turn around

Based on that, George Jennings has played finals but Nofa hasn't. Is Jennings better? Actually we can say that about our very own Robert Jennings. He's played finals but Nofa hasn't. Same question.

Put Brooks in the Roosters' team against the Raiders and I'm pretty confident the result would be different. There is no magic formula, just being in a wealthier club with more resources, the seemingly unending supply of top junior talent and established first graders.

I don't know who is better but geez it's close. Moses might get the nod because he has goal kicking as well.

1 Finals win 5 losses..yah Mitchell..

7 seasons, no finals appearances.

Yay Mr Potential.

We should not forget that Mitchell Moses was Brooks' halves partner for 50% of Brooks' campaigns to date.

Please read the article about Moses' in today's Daily Telegraph. He is reported as being a "flat track champion."

Brooks is the better player and better person. Brooks is also a very good field goal exponent, Something which Moses isn't. As for Moses kicking goals under pressure have a look at Moses" attempted goal kick last Saturday when the score was 20-18.

Id take a 50% + wins in a season and finals games over the failure that "Brooks'Team" dishes out every season for the last 7 times.

Im sure all those other 15 teams that can actually make a final in a decade, if they had to choose, they sure would describe Parra as a winning team when the alterative is the Tigers.
