**Bryce Gibbs not charged for alleged Ben Hannant slur**

WESTS Tigers prop Bryce Gibbs has escaped a charge for the alleged religious slur he made against Canterbury's Ben Hannant in the Bulldogs' 24-4 NRL win on Friday night.

The Bulldogs made no formal complaint under the league's anti-vilification code, but the match review committee was reportedly to listen to referees' audio of the incident to determine if any other action would be taken.

Gibbs' name did not appear on the committee's list of charges today, **but he may yet be fined by the NRL if there is sufficient evidence.**

Canberra's David Shillington has been charged with a grade one careless high tackle but will escape a ban.

Brisbane's Matt Gillett has been charged with dangerous contact with the legs/feet.

He will escape suspension if he enters the early guilty plea and miss one match if he unsuccessfully defends the grade one charge at the NRL judiciary.
He will also escape a ban with an early guilty plea and miss one game with an unsuccessful challenge.

of course he wouldnt be charged, how dumb would the NRL look, and it would also look like they are playing favorites.

What a lucky guy is Bryce Gibbs! He does some silly things on the field, he should just knuckle down and concentrate on playing some good footy, he made some silly mistakes in that game, and he just came undone, that is no excuse for bad behaviour.

Channel 9 sport revealed what Gibbs apparently said. Didn't seem to be much to me, other than a couple of swear words about Hannant's religion. Hannant apparently asked Gibbs for an apology after the game and Gibbs had another pot shot at him which is what set him off…Anyway, it's all done and dusted now.

Michael Jennings is also looking to show up Benji on Saturday too. Plenty of confidence in the Panthers camp. Hopefully they go into the match over-confident.

What a load of crap….if he gets charged or fined then these people are morons.

There is more important and pressing matters at hand, more so than sparing the feelings of - what is fast becoming - a serial sook.

Fortunately Hannant is not taking it further…..so he is not the sook....from reports I have read its the NRL etc Would have Hannant my team anytime....just never Ennis the Dog!
