Calling it early!!

Last night I watched the game, and although it was just a trial, what I saw was impressive. Players looked fit, speed all round was great, defense strong, attack potent. I'm prepared to call it now, before the season proper starts, that we are going to have a great year.

Barring injuries to key players we will make top 4\. No doubt about it.

Shoot me down in flames for going off half cocked, but this team seems to be the best and most balanced we've had. Better than 05'. I'm glad I'm a member so I can get first dibs on finals tickets. I think i'll be needing it!!

Think about the opposition Dave…..from what Ive seen & read, they offered very little resistance.

That said Im sure we'll have a good year

if the team can be fit and healthy towards in run to finals time, anything is possible.
at times, I can be very optimistic, try to see a positive in each situation.
whilst the reports sound encouraging/promising.
consistent solid good footy is required to get you the 2 points each game. 😛ray:
injuries will happen, :unamused: and we will have to wait and see how they can be coped with by the team.

I've thought that we're going to have a big year for 6 months. I wouldn't base my opinion on one trial game like you seem to have.

Hard not to be impressed with the little footage I saw, it looked like mid season type footy, not the first hit out for the year….though it sounds like there was plenty of scrappy patches too

Good on you TigerDave. Nothing wrong with getting excited about your footy team and putting in an early call. Although I didn't get to see last nights game, I was at the corresponding trial at Cambo last year and by the sounds of it the tiges performance last night couldn't have been any further removed to last years trial game. I'll back your call brother.

The report I heard was that towards the end of the game our boys were really just messing around with them - apparently we really looked a cut above the Eels.

Thats exactly what I thought when I watched the all stars game about Marshall - No rust - just hit the ground running - he could have been playing a game in round 10 and you wouldn't have seen it any different.

With a penalty blow out favouring the tigers not exactly sure i'd have a guess at something like 11-2 and the amount of ball we had and with a stronger line up then Parra i really though we should have put a lot more on them..Sandow is so overweight for a halfback , Moltzen came from nowhere to mow him down in the corner. No one really stood out for mine .Interesting to see Meaney get a run late in the game on the wing .

The Tigers have the right coach. All the pieces are set, it will just come down to execution and a good run with injuries.

I'm not getting excited from last nights trial match, but by looking at our team, it's balance, the experience, the coach, the forward pack, the halves, our depth. Every time I try and look for a weakness I can't find one, except for possibly our full back, but even their we have plenty of options. Sorry if I put the mocker on, but I'm confident.

I'm not saying we'll win the comp although I think we will be in the mix big time. But we will have a great year. No doubt.

No way was it an 11-2 count. Parra got the first 4 or 5 easy. Evened up in the second half but certainly wasn't lop sided.

Thanks for putting the mocker on us Dave!

Fans can get carried away, as long as the players dont.

In my entire life Ive only gone into 2 comps thinking we were a big chance to win, last year and this year.

I think if we finish outside the top 4 (barring injuries) we have under performed.

From there, there is so many factors, not discounting luck, that goes into winning a comp

Too true TigerDave.

With the form we showed at the back end of last year, our new recruits and all of our key players injury fit, we will be looking at a great year.

I'm not going to talk premiers, but we should be top four come the end of the regular home/away season. Hopefully with the lessons learnt through out our last finals outing coupled with the experience and emotions that came at the back end of the Warriors loss driving us home each week, we should be a very potent and determined outfit.

Last night our Tigers showed promise and skill, and with some extra attention payed to some cheap handovers in possession, we will be one of the 'top dogs' come the start of the season.

I have a good feeling about this year and hopefully our memberships will come in handy come finals time!
