Can NSW win the State Of Origin series

I think it's a decent side we have named, although I am not sold on Hodkinson. I think when you have Reynolds in the halves you need a halves partner who can control the game himself. I would have looked at Jarrod Mullen for that position, but what can you do? I feel Hodkinson may be another Wallace although we have won games with him there.

The injuries/suspensions in the forwards may also hurt us badly, the side would be much stronger with Watmough and Bird starting together in the back row and having Fifita coming onto the bench at the expense of Scott and Hoff.

Yes they can…our forwards worry me a little, but I like our backs
Im sure the Blues think they can win...its 0-0 as far as Im concerned

Theres always a chance at this stage of the year…..

Dropping Pearce is a huge boost. The bloke is a loser. He cannot find a way to win when in this sort of company.

Hayne at the back is a move 3 years too late but still should pay dividends. Watch him put Morris away for at least one try.

Tupou is good in the air

Forwards are the weak link, which is usually the other way around.Nothing too inspiring about that pack. Farah, Gallen, Scott and Lewis are all short of a gallop. Selecting Lewis is ridiculous.

Reynolds is a goer and his game suits this level. He will give it everything and his kick chases could be a real thorn in the sides QLD back 3.

NSW just have to keep it simple and mistake free. Gallen needs to pull his head in and lead....something he hasnt done in any game of SOO for a while. QLD are far too good, far too experienced, far too well prepared to try and bash them out of a game.

I'm predicting a 3-0 wash but wouldnt be surprised if the blues go to Sydney 1up. This is their chance to ambush this mighty side who may take them lightly....of course pigs may fly as well I suppose.....

realistically, I can't see us (the blues) winning the first game, or the series. We have a decent chance of winning game 2 in sydney, or game 3 if its a dead rubber

There's always hope though

It's probably the best balanced team NSW have named for a while and at least Pearce isn't there to stink up things. If the Blues backline doesn't panic in defense they're a massive chance. As usual though a lot depends on the officials and whether they actually remember being offside is a penalty. NSW to win Game 1 in an upset

The Morris boys and Jenko have been sound defensively for the past 2 series. I have confidence in their abilities defensively. I think defending next to his club teammate will help Tupou as well. Reynolds and Hodkinson are sound defensively too. I think our problem will be our go forward, the outside of Gallen and Tamou the starting pack has not got the best track record in origin historically. The bench however is not lacking in that department.

they can, but I don't think they will.

qld are far more settled and work like a well oiled machine. I do think they have all the pressure on them to maintain winning the series.

nsw are an unknown factor, and their time is approaching, to win a series with each game played.
