Can the Wests Tigers still make the top 8 in 2022

Can we make the finals?
We're currently on 8 points, its halfway through the season, and have no coach.
I think a team needs 28 points to give itself a slim chance.
To get to 28 points we need to win 10 from the remaining 12 games. This is not out of the realm of possibility, but does it fall into the realm of probability?
If we win the next 3 against Manly, Bulldogs and Warriors we give ourselves a glimmer of hope.

I have often wondered how this team would go without a coach, or with limited input from a coach?

But even if we did make it, which is as probable as me winning lotto, we'd be out in the first week anyway, so what's the point of getting there if you are only making up the number? Oh wait, I hear " Finals are a different game"...yes, but that goes for the opposition too.

If we make the finals it means that we must have strung a few together, in the regular season, to get there. Also means that we are in form going in. Putting 2 and 2 together, I get 5 = PREMIERSHIP!!

The reality is if you make the 8, you get an opportunity to play in the NRL elite knockout comp. no team goes in there to make up the numbers.

It’s not about making the 8, it’s about the next 3 year plan. Madge didn’t understand that, kept mumbling..we’re gonna make the 8. To many that’s a sign professional help is needed. We’re not making the 8 without pathways and development.

I think you (most clubs) can buy yourself into the 8, but only for a year or two (eg, like Bennett at Newy a few years ago), but the pathways and development, if done correctly, can keep you there. Even the Panthers, who look like the poster children of development, still needed a couple, mainly Api, from outside, to hold the trophy up. He will make a difference next year.

Yes that is a valid point, but ultimately no NRL team has won the premiership from outside the top four since the final eight system was introduced and it is a similar story in the AFL ..Hence, in this system, half the teams are just there to play against the top 4...

If we can win the next three games (two of which are very winnable against teams below us on the ladder), then I still don't think we make the 8, but it will go a long way in reinstilling pride in the jersey.

After the Warriors game, we will officially announce Ciraldo as our coach for next year and snag a few more key signings. That's my baseless prediction anyway.

Until mathematically we can’t, then we can. I reckon juro will prove it.
Players are coming back from injury and one of them is apparently a god. The new coach, well obviously he is way better than the last one. And there are 12 shit teams above us.
How do we not make the 8?
All the above 100% correct.
