Can the Wests Tigers still make the top 8 in 2022

I don't believe it's the coach. The problem with lower level ability players is that when the going gets tough they don't perform. The Souths game was a classic example. They just smashed us up the middle and we couldn't go with them.

It's not mental steel. It's ability which may include form.

It's both, but sports psychology makes a big difference and is often overlooked. It's that 1% that wins games.

I remembered reading an article about Bellamy and the Storm's mental focus direction years ago.

It's still on nrl.com -

Here is some context.

In 2009, when Parramatta went on their run to the grand final, after round 13 they had 4W-1D-7L. They won 8 of their last 12 and snuck into the 8.

That team had peak Jarryd Hayne and a few good forwards. We have no one. All hope is lost for this team.

Agree but if your squad is 15% behind then 1% doesn’t make a dent.

Just to be practical let's win 7 more games finish 9th or thereabouts and next year a big year
No @Stevec not 9th or thereabouts....it MUST BE 9th 😍 🤣

St George holds the world record for the most number of premiership wins in a row so....WT could become an even bigger Legend by having the distinction of the most number of 9th places in world history 🤣....we'd be bigger than Ben Hur 🦓🦼
Sad really isn't it 😢 when you 🤔 about it.

But at the same time I've had more laughs reading all the posts from all you dudes than reading the Dads Jokes/things that make you larf sections....and I'm sure I'll get plenty more larfs as I read on, the sense of humour from you blokes is awesome.
But without doubt the bloke with the Best sense of humour of all is @stevo133

Thank You Stevo 👍 You've helped brighten my day in the middle of a pretty dark time for most on here....imo.
Love You'se all 🥰

I don't believe this at all on multiple levels. Firstly talent is the most important attribute. Secondly the 1% stuff is nonsense. Sure if two teams or sportsman are completely even in talent and drive than that stuff might matter. If not forget about it.

I think you can stuff it up if you are too loose but even then the talent levels need to be pretty close.

Don't get me wrong you need to do the right thing but physical gifts matter so much. It's why Maradona who was a mess was the best soccer player of all time.

Using the Storm is a good example that disproves your point. Munster has been a mess for years. Pretty good player though.

The good news is we will sack him after 2.5 so we can start the planning again.
Hey @Chicken_Faced_Killa You've got a killer sense of humour 😂
I've got an idea!!!
To help WT financially....maybe we can all start putting $1.00 per week into a special 'Sack the next Coach' account 🤣🤣 as the payout on 2.5 years will be 🏔️⛰️🗻🌋.
If it wasn't so 😱☹️.... it'd be 😂🤣

Make the eight? That is not our objective. As soon as our new coach Rip Van Winkle arrives we will fall into a deep slumber and suddenly, magically awaken in three years time to lead the comp. It is writ!

Context is what a lot of people leave out when they look at history for some hope. You need to have the talent there to go on a run. Like Parra in 09, even us in 05. This team has nobody that can take this team on a run. We’re in the position we’ve been in every year for the last decade. There’s no reason to suggest we’ll finish the year any differently to the last 10.

I have and as I said it's wishful thinking.

But if you look at the games we should have won or lost by less than 6 points - Warriors, Titans and Dragons we'd be on 14 points and in 7th.

There's still hope.
But We aren't @Leck and that's the reality of our sorry situation.
Forget this year as imo we are at least 100,000% certain of not getting any further than 9th 🤣.
But if Noddy gets the gig next year he'll be able to drive us all the way to the Holy Grail in his cute little yellow and red car 🚕🚗

Just wait to hear the Tiger ROAR and how good that will feel 🤗 🤗 🤗 when he pomps the horn 📣 on his/our victory lap around Homebush Stadium or even the sparkling brand new Campbelltown International Stadium 😉.

King Doueihi? He can do it all

Sheens all but conceded we can’t. And probably not for at least another 2 years. We might be a chance 3 years into Ciraldo’s 5 year plan 🥳🥳
That's true,

But in 05 around thus time of year Sheens didn't think we had much pf a chance eithet till B Galea spoje at training saying if we win here and they loose etc etc.

We also had Hodgson, Marshall, Prince and Farah in the spine. In 2022 we have Laurie, Brooks, Hastings and Liddle/Simpkin.

But it’s a results business. So we’ll sack the coach when the media starts putting heat on the club again.
