I think this will show if this is club is as good as us fans think they are. stuff all the rubbish lets show how the magpie and the tiger can pull together prove every critic wrong go boys wish you all the best

Not in 2014, but beyond is looking good no matter who coaches us.

This year is shot, mainly on the back of injuries, but the drama is not helping. From where I sit this season can not end quick enough, have a break, get all our players fit and healthy, make one or two smart buys, move a couple of players on,get the new board up and running and bring on 2015

This club has leaked like a sieve for years. Board members and especially players. We had our own mole from the playing group on the forum until Sheens told them to cut it out.

I think we're shot for the rest of the year. Potter will be the consummate professional and try his guts out and the players probably will as well, but the media circus won't go away and it will eat at us like a cancer.

Of course we can. It all starts on Monday night. Hopefully a big crowd turns up, boys fired up not only for Dwyer but for all the shot the media is putting on us….

Flog the storm at home and we move forward

I'd like to be able to say yes but I doubt it

Look at any other club who knows that the coach is probably a dead man walking

They don't aim up because they don't have to , they have their excuse ready made

I have a feeling the past few weeks will galvanize the playing group and the coaching staff and we will push toward the 8 this year…

Moving forward with an independent Board in place and a restructure of management given the strength of our young team a bit more luck with injuries and 2015 and beyond will be bright indeed...

Disagree Happy.

More times than not you see that fire them up, knowing a new bloke may be coming in and looking over the roster doesn't leave many feeling safe enough to not put in,.

Of course, we make the 8 & Mick stays anyway

When everything is going well , they will be fine

But when it gets real tough, late in a game and you need to dig in

Think of how many teams in these situations fold everytime it gets tough

Honestly , I hope I'm real wrong on this one

The thing we need to do is to do a Manly a feed a siege mentality

Tell everyone that the world's against us , the refs ,the NRL ,the board , everyone

And go from there

To be honest, they just don't have enough fit troops to be able to compete at present. This weeks team against the Storm we will be lucky to put a team on the paddock.Austen will probably not play for a few weeks and their is doubts over Galloway,Brooks and Simona all have shoulder problems. Put all the drama on top of our injuries and it's game set and match for us in 2014

the club, can overcome this setback.
will they, remains to be seen.

showed signs of being a very good season.
ego's of some people, have the seen demise of this.

With the current structure of the club, I cannot see the club being able to reaching the heights it should. I do not know' if the ARLC's plan for the future includes a complete restructure of the organisation or not.
The Club must be incorporated as a limited company and the shares should be available for purchase by the supporters. The maximum number of shares to be help by one person should be limited, so as many supporters as possible can be part-owners. By doing this the board members become accountable to the share-holders and responsible for the successful running of the business.

There is no way the club will just go on its way next season…if reports are true the club has certain types disrupting procedures for there own gains trouble will always be just under the surface . If this situation is rectified yes the club will move forward but the cancer has to be REMOVED.

the only positive i see is that the juniors are signed up long term. i doubt they would have any get out clauses either

the rest can bugger off for all i care.

I think this sums it up very well. Injuries and the self inflicted dramas will now finish us off for 2014\. In my mind it is likely to finish as a very positive year, and suggests a couple of very good years coming up. But like Super, I just want this season to be over ASAP.

Is the question can the club or the team overcome this setback?!

As for the club - of course. This sort of thing happens and things move on.

The team - if you're asking can they make the eight I don't think so, but then personally I don't equate making the eight with a successful year, and so the setback against st George is just one of the downs in a season we should've have expected a lot of ups and downs.

Even if we were to make the 8 can't see us going very far , we are very inconsistent . Let's put the Season behind us and let 2015 be a Successful one and beg for it to be injury free or very minimal

in reply to the thread's title, this is a quote which was given to the players today at a team meeting

"a successful team is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others have thrown at them"

hopefully thats a sign of the mindset the club has taken from this whole fiasco and hopefully it is this quote which the players can use as a driving force to make the top 8 and silence the critics.

we will bounce back
