Out of interest does anyone know what percentage of Wests Tigers NYC players usually make it in NRL. Also, how many progress from NYC to either Balmain or West NSWRL teams.

Just as a test we'll take our NYC GF side from '09.

1\. Jake Mullaney (Currently in FG for Eels but in all liklihood will be back in State Cup by Rd 1 2013)
2\. Joel Jackson (Compound fracture of the ankle destroyed his career)
3\. Joel Wisbey (Has had problems with his shoulders, but realistically just never kicked on)
4\. Jake Clarke (Still playing State Cup for Balmain Ryde-Eastwood).
5\. Sama Sauvao (Never kicked on)
6\. Rob Lui (Obviously a great talent but has had personal issues, will be back in FG in 2013)
7\. Darren Nicholls (Played State Cup for Balmain Ryde-Eastwood, but went to France and now at Mounties)
8\. Andrew Fifita (FG regular pretty much straight from NYC)
9\. Chris Corby (Had a major neck injury which I think had made him retire prematurely but not sure if that is 100%)
10\. Aaron Woods (FG regular while still NYC age)
11\. Simon Dwyer (FG regular straight from NYC)
12\. Jason Shirnack (Couple of FG games but hasn't kicked on since a move to NQ)
13\. Matt Hyland (Playing State Cup for Norths, tackle machine but not really big enough)
14\. Jay Florimo (Talented at under age level but never kicked on, playing local A-Grade now I believe)
15\. Monikura Tikinau (Haven't heard much since this game)
16\. David Fifita (Played Wests and Balmain State Cup, but hasn't got the work-ethic to make FG at the moment)
17\. Rhys Curran (Still with Balmain Ryde-Eastwood State Cup)

So from that team we had 6 players play first grade (5 for us), 4 of which were FG regulars pretty much straight from NYC and 2 of which were rep players. That is a very good result from the team, and if we matched those numbers with the current side we're in very good stead.

IMO this side has more talent in it than the 2009 model. Have said that all along, IMO the following will play NRL

Very confident on these
NOfoaluma
Korobete
Miller
Santi
Lovett

Some strong performances on the weekend made me think
Jesse Sue and Mulchay, who previously hadn't won me over are a chance to play NRL.

I actually reckon juust about all our forwards are some chance to play NRL in the future (of course not all of them will)

Add Andrew Vela to that list Goose, and I reckon Asiseli Fine might be another.

Thanks a lot..certainly give us good prospects for the next 3 years and when considering the likely NYC team for 2013 with the likes of Moses & brooks being added the prospects look even better. Now all we need is an NRL coach to continue Todd's development

I personally can't see Asipeli Fine playing first grade but I'd be happy to be proven wrong. If guys like Sama Savou, Jake Clarke, Fineula Finau et al haven't/won't play first grade I certainly doubt he will. Those three have him quite well and truly covered. Especially since Fine is too old for NYC now. I can't see him cracking a spot for the WT state cup side next year injuries notwithstanding. Maybe elsewhere?

I do think Soni Paasi will get a gig somewhere, he just has a way of catching the eye that will get him a shot. I also think Kurtis Rowe may too depending on how he goes next year. He should have the fullback jersey on most of the year and if he bulks up slightly he's almost as talented as Tedesco but just a little bit slighter. I think Groat is also still a big chance to play first grade. He may toil in state cup for a while but once he gets a good season solid behind him he will improve. Remember in the 2011 finals series he was actually quite good. It was that Te'o shot that dented his confidence. Of course he was struggling at the beginning of the year with being our second top guy with KG injured but he'll get older and bigger and dumber and meaner. Manaia Rudolph has all the talent in the world and if he can put in hard yards over the off season he is still a chance.

Vela certainly will, left him out as he did not play much this year.

don't forget mosese fotuiaka (spelling) who was the other prop. He is a keebra park lad who has been on the first grade radar all year. he got voted players player for the season and has been talked about of being in the 'group' of props we have coming through by Sheens who will be great for the clubs future.

I don't think Fine will make it. Having watching closely during all of the finals games he is nothing that special. He actually almost cost us the game against the bulldogs (dropped two balls over the line from memory). He is solid but don't think he is a first grader.

Also don't forget if we had played tedesco and sironen in that side as well then we would've been unbelievable! the first game siro played for the NYC this year after missing the first bunch of games with a shoulder injury he lit up the warriors who ended up second on the table and we put about 50 on them from memory. that was when I figured we had a special lot.

As much as I'm enjoying seeing all the potential talent coming through, I'd almost trade a couple of them (let's say Rowe and Mulcahy) for a dominate centre. Watching the dragons Nathan Green play in this comp made me really jealous that we don't have someone with pace, size and agro who is coming through the ranks…

Anyone know if any of the SG Ball or Keebra lads coming soon have any size in the centres? Is Simonas brother any good?

Fines an interesting one. Payton wrapped him reguarly in his match reports, considering he didnt really stand out this usually means that he is a very good trainer. He was solid defensivley but didnt seem to offermuch in attack. Quiet often coaches will reward these types of blokes as it sets a good example to others.

Him putting korobeite away for the try just before halftime was very good. The shift to the left was a plan move and in training they had obviously finished it with fine drawing the center/wing and korobeite finishing on the inside. Even though fine could have probably scored himself he still finished the move which would have pleased the coaching staff.

Nofoaluma worries me a bit. To me has the talent (andthe upbringing) to be better then korobeite. However he really doesn't seem to do the 1%s that MK does. Against the roosters after about 15mims he made a big break upfield and got tackled. 2 tackles later Mulcahy threw a cut out pass which should have resulted in a try but nofoaluma was still getting back into position. To me he has always been a center. Just because he is great out of dummy half and under the high ball shouldn't automatically make him a winger.

The thing that stood out for me about MK is the little things he does. He isn't lazy, he plays as if his life depends on him being a success…and it some ways it probably does. Hoping some of this can rub off on DN over the off season.

Nofoaluma hasn't shown any semblance of a passing game to me. There was one particular moment in the Grand Final that he just blatantly refused to even look for support. I like that he backs himself to beat his man (or the whole team) but it's a team sport. I can't see him cracking it as a centre unless he develops this part of his game (and grows a few inches).

just finished watching it (Yes I know Im a bit late) and what a squad.

Well done Todd P and the boys

Lets hope in 2015 we have more than one player from the 2012 NYC team still playing for Wests Tigers.
