@Sunnycoast_tiger he looks ok but very similar build to Nofoaluma

Talau is over 6ft tall and I dare say on his run a few games ago considerably faster than Nofoaluma. He will fill right centre well.

A lot of crap in our first grade side and our CC side shows we have plenty of depth in that department.

@pawsandclaws1 which run was this?

Against North Sydney. He demonstrated a good turn of pace down the right hand touch line. Looked a good mover
.

@tigerap Did Madge keep the same coaching staff as Cleary had when he took over ? Maybe he will review it after this year perhaps.

Surely bradley deserves a call up

He's one player I would be throwing into FG after June 30.

@willow Agree would be nice to have a tall prospect , he seems a handy type but think he is still a way of just looking at his build , will be interesting watching his progression.

Hi All,
Just a quick question what is Tommy Talau best position?? And is he ready for first grade this year or next?
Thanks

I was thinking that watching the game. Honestly at the moment I'd play him at 5/8 (but not with Reynolds there) . He has great ball skills and am ok shorty kicking game, and good size. Not super quick, but quicker than nof, Jennings, marsters etc. Once he fills out he'll probably end up as a back rower with skills like matto, John Sutton and Graham etc. Got a great build. At centre he doesn't touch the ball enough and basically just does one out hitups. On the wing it's better as he has a bit more room to move.
He could be a decent centre behind a decent pack and with halves that spread the ball.

He's a lot taller, and will be significantly bigger than him once he fills out. Though he already is bigger.

@balmain-boy

I thought he started well in defence then the moment I thought that he let in a simple try has a long way to go don’t know what position .

Oliver clark was massive in his 2nd stint, his defence turned the momentum over.

I'll wait for @balmain-boy appraisal

He was the best of our props, we only played with 2 though. His first stint was good. Second stint only came back in the final 10 mins or so. Still didn't make huge metres per hit up, but was involved a lot while on the field.

He's a solid and unspectacular player. As I've said before, a lot of Tim Grant/Jack Buchanan about him.
He could do a job first grade, but no better than Matulino /Eiso imo

@tony-soprano you can see he can hit from that monster tackle he made. Pity about McQueen taking someone out in back play so the hit was for nothing.
He's not a natural ball runner/whole runner which is a negative when playing in the backs. He has an all around skill set which bodes well for first grade. But at the moment touching the ball 7-8 times a game isn't enough for him to keep developing
