Canterbury Cup Team Announcement: Round 17

@MAGPIES1963 he has shredded quite abit since last saw him play, been doing a lot of boxing. He was playing on the wing today, defensively he wasn’t great and in attack he didn’t do much either, didn’t get much ball and all his carries were from his own 10m line.

Thanks for the update @Madge: by the sound of things he isn't a shadow of the player he once was, so probably not much worry re Manly getting their grubby talons on him. It's a bit of a laugh having Blacktown fibros as the feeder for the Silver spoon club. I'm not knocking Blacktown by the way, as I lived there for a few years :relaxed:

Holy crap this team is awful. Just lazy, incompetent and lacking everything. I actually think it's better for all our development players to play and win in Flegg than play down to the level of the rest of this squad.

So many players aren't up to this level.

Losing 20-10 after three of the softest tries you'll ever see

Watching this game it is amazing to think this is the reserve grade side , just shows how the club has torn the heart out of the playing ranks . It shows how little effort has been put in by administration to show any remnants of a winning culture SAD ! This team should be playing on a Saturday morning somewhere.. side note Hodgo can not coach!

I have to agree re Hodgo. The fact that Madden is mostly inclined to send the ball out to the backs indicates that the team is in disarray.

Next year hopefully we will see the CC Team viewed by the Club as a stepping stone to teach and promote young talent into the NRL team. The emphasis has to be on the identification and retention of the best young talent and then providing them with the best coaching and pathways to accelerate promotion to the NRL.

What does a halfback do. Pass it to the midget forwards or the slow backs. I can understand the hesitancy.
Our complete failure to recruit anyone for nsw cup or flegg/nyc for the past 3-4 years is why this team is in dissaray. We don't have good players in our system. We added some young quality this season. Let's hope it continues

OK I'll admit I wouldn't know him if I bumped into him... Who was wearing 13...the try saver?
