Big and fast centre. Obviously doing well at WTs and knows how to score. Here is a tip, check who he is related to which should fill us with hope for the future

He was a young gun at Parra. One of Jonah Lomu's cousins. Quickand a good finisher. Score a hat trick in the flegg trial 2 weeks back, then another in the CC trial the next day. Seems a goer. From the limited i've seen he reminded me of Michael Jennings a bit.

It's weird to put Seyfarth in at 2nd row and McIntyre at lock, would think they'd play the other way around.

Interesting to see Kei named on the wing ahead of Cini and Hoffman, given they started the nrl trial on the wings. Although really all of Talau, Hoffman and Cini are more centres than wingers. Could see Johns moving to second row to open up a space for one of these kids in the near future.

Re: Seyfarth, I think the reasoning may be that he'll need to be able to play both edge and middle if he's to take that last bench spot (which is probably where he'll get a start in 1st grade). I doubt we'll be playing Luciano and Garner 80 each week so the bench 2nd rower is probably going to have to do stints in the middle and on an edge, at least as long as we're carrying a utility on the bench.

It's true, and he has been a second rower all his life. So he has positional know how. But as he keeps growing i'm not sure how agile he'll be be out wide. Most locks rotate with prop these days and that's how i see him going.

Nothing wrong with pushing his versatility in the lower grades though.

Anyone know what happened to Lucas Price? Thought he was decent last year.

He didn't play a single game last year as he was injured, and in the coaches box the whole time...

A very erratic player, and rightfully let go i imagine. Far better prospects coming through

Magpies preparing for improved season ahead of Round 1

Western Suburbs Magpies kick off their season on Sunday with an exciting matchup against the St. George Illawarra Dragons at WIN Stadium as part of a double-header with the NRL sides.

The Magpies will be looking to get their campaign off to a good start after just missing out on finals football in 2019. With a new coach in Wayne Collins, Western Suburbs enter Sunday's clash full of confidence with a strong performance in their final trial match against the Penrith Panthers.

Coming up against strong opponents in last season’s preliminary finalists in the Dragons, Coach Collins has named a strong side with a number of NRL squad members lining up. With NRL-hardened veterans such as Chris McQueen and Matt Eisenhuth lining up alongside the likes of young gun hooker Jake Simpkin and 2019 debutant Tommy Talau, the Magpies side has a fresh new look heading into 2020.

Having not featured since picking up an injury in the NRL Nines in Perth, Paul Momirovski could also both be late inclusion for the Magpies after being named as a reserve for the 21-man NRL squad.

Meanwhile, the Dragons have named a young but strong side, with NRL talent such as Jason Saab and Jackson Ford taking the field for St. George-Illawarra. Adam Clune, Euan Aitken and Josh Kerr could all be late inclusions for the Dragons after being named as reserves for the NRL squad.

Remarkably, this matchup saw two draws recorded last season with a 22-22 result in Round 12 followed by a 24-24 final score in Round 18.

Cini & Hoffman very unlucky. Assume they will be in Flegg?

Hoffman had a great game in JF. He defended well, has a great step and looked dangerous with the ball. He scored the last try and had room to stride out. Although not a speedster, he is a good prospect.
