Captain my Captain..2017...

Looking at the overall picture at the moment, ET shows the necessary leadership qualities and he also speaks more professionally and concisely than Woods, although that's just my opinion. I don't think Cleary will strip the captaincy from Woods however.

Anyone is better than a flip flopping indecisive captain.
Give it to Rankin, couldn't do worse than Woods. Seriously.

Jesus. Who names the captain if the coach can't?
I'm not even sure this thread is serious.

It's not a serious question, how could it be? It's just another thread created to give people more opportunity to bash Woods - like we don't have enough already :unamused:

Agreed the agenda from some people is far from subtle

No agenda.

Just sick of the four now five blokes not signing in the last 18 months when offers have been on the table.

Even Brookes is not official.

Would of been great if Wood's led by example and accepted our excessive offer.

I would be amazed if Cleary changed the captaincy at this time. How much turmoil can one club take? Maybe next year but if he did it now you would have factions forming among the players, either pro or anti the change. For now we should just concentrate on the football playing side of things and leave the politics alone.

I don't think Woods is captain material , I don't think ET is captain material and not overly sold on Lawrence either

Look if Brooks is here to stay maybe give it to him

Force him to lead this side around the park ….

We really don't have any blokes who I think are captains to be brutally honest

I dont see Brooks as being capable of asking a ref the time, neverlone hitting one up over a call

The idea in making Brooks captain is trying to make him more accountable for his actions

Brooks being more consistent is only going to be a good thing for the club

People want players confronting refs ….

Remind me the last time your saw a ref change his decision because a captain got in his face

Maybe he might earn a square up later on , but I want this side to not have to rely on getting square up penalties to be competitive

I want a side that can be consistent week in week out

Making ET a captain won't change a single thing he does week in week out

Brooks might be different

Hahahaha… You should know better than most (c) s usually pick themselves.
You're either a leader or you're not... You can't force someone into it
Ridiculous call.

Agree with sideline eye

The "C" next to someone name is irrelevant. The players themselves know who the onfield leader is. Really we haven't had a descent captain in years. You don't see Woods behind the posts trying to enthuse the players after letting in a try. Farah was the same, stood there with the shits and head down. As far as a captain goes really just need someone the refs respect so we can scam a penalty and so on

Jamal. He would always have a story to help fire the troops up. "This reminds me of when I was backpacking in Vietnam", or "The villagers in Nepal banded together when…", or "One time at band camp..."

It's more a question of whether you think Ivan will rename someone else as the captain for the remainder of the year ?

If I wanted create a thread to give it to Woods I would have Flippedy :unamused:

Who drives the bus? Is it the captain, the coach, the player of the week, an assistant coach, a football whisperer, or is it a specialist job?

Depending on who we sign for 2018, it could be someone who isn't even at the club this season.

That's what I'm hoping.
Lawrence , The only one who would be ok, isn't sure is being selected each week. If picked on form( and I hope that's how it will be from now on).

Id give it to Tedesco and use it as a carrot if he signs. Plays 80 minutes and will be well respectd by the refs.

Wait so we're going to take the captaincy off Woods because we don't like him talking to other clubs and give the armband to Tedesco, who's been worse if anything.
