Captain- Robbie, Benji, both or someone else?

Robbie does a good job but is it time to take some pressure off him so he can concentrate on his game?

Benji does seem to get up the team a little more than Robbie at times, he seems to be a born leader on the field?

Chris Heighington would be good through his work ethic but could that be enough? Can't see him getting up the blokes when needed?

Maybe the responsibility needs to be a shared one as Co Captains officially on paper not as it is at the moment?

What are your thoughts?

Benji used to be the captain. It became too much so they switched to Robbie.
I think it's fine as is now.

Rhino doesn't need any more work on his shoulders, plus he gets pretty worked up.
Robbie is in the middle with the ref beside him all game, so it just works.

My understanding was that Robbie was assured of the captaincy as part of his re-signing deal done a little while ago. Not sure if/how this impacts on the captaincy decision, or for how long? Any advice on this much appreciated.

Farah does great as our captain though i cant help but notice he always looks to benji for the decisions… id say a vice captain tag is called for... or perhaps co captaincy

It seems as if it's pretty much a co-captaincy but Robbie is the one with the weight on his shoulders.

Ellis would be good but no one understands him haha.

You need a class act as captain without the headlines nor the antics that go with some of our senior guys. I would like to see Gareth Ellis lead the team and when he finally does go home Chris Lawrence should be ready.

We do not need players that twitter/facebook or voice their opinions outside the club some things are best unsaid in the true spirit of the club. We dont need heroes just a good solid leader with character, unfortunately some think they above approach and more important than the club

Let's not create more ructions within the ranks. At the time when Robbie was appointed Captain to take over from Hodgo, Benji was not NZ captain and he had enough things to worry about in his own game (including goal kicking duties and a muted switch to half-back). Benji was looking to just make it through a season without serious injury. Robbie was the obvious choice at the time.

Since then, Benji has proven himself to be a great leader with NZ and with WT, but there is no reason to unseat Robbie from the captaincy. None at all. Leave things as they are.
