Captain Tamou

well done James. No doubt his rep experience will help the kids coming through. Really hope we can give the premiership a crack this year.

Outstanding news…
Anytime he talks he just has the power for people to listen and buy in… He is going to do wonders for this team and development for the younger players…

4 home grounds now this

🤨

Who else would you have ahead of him?

We are very thin on captain material which says alot about our squad in general.

Why you would put a winger in the leadership group ....

Anyhoo ....Lucy must have been unlucky

Warren Boland captained Wests from the wing for years

With Tamou being so tall, everyone has to look up to him anyway
Only makes sense to make him Captain

On a serious note, I like this appointment
Not to many Captains in the history of our game that can boast a wining streak like the panthers last year
There were a few but not many
Let's hope Tamou can bring that professionalism here to the Tigers and lead by example

Thin pickings for leaders in Tiger Town unfortunately.

Some really interesting decisions. Tamou was brought in to be a leader and set an example, so that makes sense. He's delivered off the field so far.

I still think Brooks was selected as captain as a sign of confidence but also an expectation of how much he must assert himself. It wasn't long ago he was coming off the bench. I think the club is struggling to make his character something it clearly isn't, but we'll see.

Douehi has been talked up as a leader before on here and the way he stood up in that Manly game shows the character of the man.

Nofa sets the best example on the training field and has shown loyalty to our club that is uncommon. He deserves this honour.

Lucy...he's *young*, give it time. His best is definitely yet to come. He's certainly not been robbed.

Mbye, it would seem, is not in the club's long-term future, so why let him keep the captaincy? Maybe he'll do consistently well without extra duties.

I forgot about Twal. Doesn't move the needle for me.

Aside from Douehi, there is no real standout captain material on the Horizon, but 2 years is a long time in the NRL and I expect Tamou to be captain next year too

Me too. I'm sure the club already have plans for this and are ensuring guys with promise, like Lucy, get mentorship. If Liddle comes good I think he could get a look. He's been through a helluva lot. I also think Blore could have something in a few years time.

Mbye didn’t even make the leadership group 🤔

This is a surprise to me. He may be still trying to get out or maybe the club are being tough trying to force him out. I don’t know. We need him this year but it’s weird to go from penthouse to doghouse in one move. Maybe Maguire is looking towards the next few years.

The leadership group is potentially a trial for the next (C) of WT after Tamou.

Unlikely the winger will be a captain but you never know.

Anyway, congrats to Tamou. Must lead from the front.

He only has himself to blame....do you think he was a good leader/captain last year?...next to Woods (in his last year) Mbye was our worst ever captain

Of all our off season signings, James Tamou may well turn out to be our best. Highly respected with loads of experience in all facets of the game. Just the guy you want calling the shots especially when a game isn't going our way. Great appointment.

It may also be the making of him, without the pressure?

Blore has had experience captaining representative teams
