...a had a few drinks the night before, big deal ? .... its 2 years on from his last major alcohol incident...
doesn't deserve a punishment in my books...nrl didnt need to get involved in this one...
The thing that annoys me is that there is clear **double standards** at play KOK. As said previously, Gallop and the NRL punted Stewart for 4 weeks because his drunken behaviour brought the game into disrepute, and he was found to have not broken the law. Carney is a serial offender (and it's not the first time he has been caught out, its the third!) If Politis and Gyngell weren't putting the screws to Gallop he might have had the pair to apply the same penalty. He has been banned for 12 months because of it. I'll reiterate: If the whole Brett Stewart debacle never occurred, I wouldn't have a problem if he got let off, because there was no precedent.
NRL aside, I don't care if it's Carney or the bloke five rows back in the Latchem Robinson stand, anyone who has been busted DUI **three times** (and thats just the times they have been caught,) show clear recklessness and selfishness by putting everyone else at risk. As part of his bloody weak "five point plan" I'll bring my uncle who has serious brain damage and no use of his legs as a result of being run down by a drunk driver and he can justify to him why idiots like himself think it's fine to get behind the wheel after a few (or a big night on it,) and that sort of permanent damage is perfectly justified.
The guy is a grade-A tosspot who has clearly displayed he has not learned from his mistakes.
End rant.
