Carney caught drink driving

he is an idiot for taking the risk. if you are going to drink then call a cab or find another way to get to where ever you are going.

hahahaha low range in the morning??? give me a break! He was on an all night bender and got caught coming home! I love it hahahahaha!

yeah mate what a hero aii
drink driving isn't a joke

Its no use the club sacking people that are caught doing this as another club will just snap them up.

If ther NRL put seruis penalties in place for serious offenses (3 strikes = de-registration) maybe then the players would take their jobs seriously.

I know that many fans that would give their arms and legs just to play pro footy.

These guys just don't realise how good they have it.

What is a star player doing drinking the night before a game anyway?

dont think that was the context - I think Chris might have been being Incredulous regarding this issue.

That would be why Manly have just signed that deal with a limo company giving them 24 hour access to a hummer and driver to ferry their drunken players around

Carney wasn't playing on Saturday, he's recovering from injury.

he was out of the spotlight for a year….
...he blew a.052 level...its only because he's on his P's that its a big deal....
leave him alone man farought....no need at all for the NRL to get involved....

Yep, sorry… I just re-read the article.

Either way, I dont care.... This has nothing to do with Rugby League and it annoys the crap out of me that primadona's get on thier high horse and want someone like Todd kicked out or sacked. Todd should never of been sacked from Canberra, and I bet they are spewing watching thier local talent win the Dally M for another club, 12 months after they got rid of him?!

As I said in my original post, there was probably over 500 people charged with drink driving on that night, but they get to keep thier jobs!

Actually i was suprised to hear he was 1 of only 41 people caught drink driving during the weekend blitz.

While i agree that he shouldn't be sacked for this incident, and i don't think the roosters or the NRL will be too harsh on him the NSW courts might be a different story. The last judge Adjudicating his last DUI case said next time he would see some jail time. Can't remember exactly but did't that Saints winger do weekend detention for numerous drink driving offences?

I really can't believe how many people are condoning repeat drink driving offenses committed by a member of the public (whether he is a NRL star or not does not matter ) Put it another way try getting on a worksite with alcohol readings and your unlucky number gets pulled 3 times and you get tested and blow over the limit See what happens then !!!!! When your family or friends are affected by it maybe you'll care then(but by then it will be too late )

I just don't think DUI penalties are high enough fullstop.

You get done more than twice the legal limit you deserve a criminal conviction as a mandatory punishment

I dont think anyone is condoning Drink Driving…. I just dont think it should be splashed all over the news simply because he is an NRL Player... Splash them all on the news, or splash none!!!

Wes Naiqama did weekend detention for repeating to drive without a license.

They do were I live Every Saturday paper has every person caught for week prior Every paper in the country should do the same . agree there with u Watto . But by saying that after 3 times DUI he should be able to play still without any limitations you are condoning it . He should be breathalized by a source outside of the club before every training session and each time he fails he gets a month on sidelines (and loses all earnings). The thing that people probably don't think about He has been caught 3 times How many times has he done it and not been caught . And the other point is if he continues to do it it proves 1 thing . He has no respect for authority or any other person on the road his actions effect . THAT is the issue

The thing that gives me the screaming irrits is that if it happened to anyone else who had the history he did, they'd be in Long Bay or Silverwater by now… This clown is a repeat offender, and should be in gaol (not just because of his celebrity, ANYONE who is caught DUI three times should be locked up for the crime of stupidity if nothing else) but will get "counselling" from his club and maybe a small fine which won't impact upon his salary greatly and there will be no lesson learnt.

This knob is a serial goose on the squirt and needs a big reality check (apparently 12 months away from the game wasn't enough...)

Probably find a sponsor will pay fine lol but 100% with u on this CB If the Roosters are fair dinkum he needs help then they need to rest him until sorted out and a next time your gone contract for any alcohol related issues I'll bet alcohol was involved when he fell out of unit couple of weeks ago too You'd have to think he has alcohol issues also

Cb i think your being abit harsh…
...maybe if this happend as soon as he came back then ok...
but its a year on...he only blew .052 (which wouldnt be a problem if he wasnt on his P's)...
...a had a few drinks the night before, big deal ? .... its 2 years on from his last major alcohol incident...
doesn't deserve a punishment in my books...nrl didnt need to get involved in this one...

See he was just issued a $10000 fine which is being donated to flood victims . as an born and bred Ipswich boy good move NRL . Why did not Gallop say this is his last chance . All Gallop has said was he is heading in wrong direction and the NRL does not want him if he can't change his ways . Another airy fairy attempt at discipline . No wonder we have so many issues with alcohol in NRL

Sorry mate but I disagree it is a big deal. I don't care what he does in his own time but when he crosses the line to get onto the roads populated by everyone elses loved ones when impaired by that level PBA than it is a masive deal in my books. Especially considering he has a zero level permissable.

The fellow that killed my cousin by hitting him at the pedestrian crossing was officially .058\. He got 4 years jail and when he gets out there is plenty more justice due to him
