As a counter point, the so called 'optimistic' fans (read happy fkn clappers), are a big part of why this club has been so poor for so long. They dont expect accountability, they just follow the herd.
I remember you and others screaming at and smugly mocking those who werent of the mind that Brooks would be our saviour a few off seasons ago. You all turned on him very quickly.
I remember 3-4 years ago being bashed from pillar to post on here for saying our administration and board were useless. In fact, I got hammered on here around 2 years ago for saying Lee was a dickhead after one of his embarrassing interviews. Once the majority agree, it becomes a pile on.
Its the merry go round of the off season....

You have to admit that there’s plenty of evidence that things have improved since the last administration was thrown out. Not on-field yet, but that’ll come in my opinion. If that makes me a happy clapper, so be it.

There are heaps of undisclosed contract conditions out there as the contract is between the individual and the club. That's why I just don't see it as an issue.
Dylan Brown, and David Fafita have player options that have jsut kicked in and they both remain at their clubs, and niether of those clubs are performing brilliantly.
Richo and Benji are clearly confident that we will be in the premirship window on 26 -30. Luai will want in so he stays. If we aren't we have bigger problems.
The real issue is who leaked it and why.

That’s just it mate, if the club’s decisions were being made with a view to us still being poor in two years, then they probably aren’t shooting high enough in the first place. They’re backing themselves and the club to start winning, which is the only way to be successful in sport.

Brooks has a 100% finals appearance record away from WT.
Sheens and Richo are multiple times premiership winners.

Thats fine.
Some see things differently.
The minority on here have been proven correct over the past decade far more times than the majority. In fact the majority usually flip flop to end up speaking the same truth come mid year.
I love laughing at people who spend the off season calling me and others trolls and condescendingly dismissing viewpoints only to fully adopt them by July bellowing on here as if they came up with them.
Happens every year.

What is good about the forum is that there are differing points of view that enable us to examine our own ideas to provide balance. The difficulty, in many cases, is weeding through opinion to find evidence that supports some of the arguments put forward. Some of the post on here have really opened my eyes to flaws in my own assessments; every day there is an opportunity to learn.

This thread is about Richardson so for me I'm happy that Richardson is an upgrade on Pascoe and super excited about Luai and next year but...
1) To keep perspective given Luai was approached by previous administration how would we have felt if Pascoe had negotiated those clauses?
Shows Shane didn't pull out anything special here.
2) Very happy that this has come out now rather than during the season. It means the onus is on Richardson and Luai to fix things and counter with positive arguments.
3) Shows that there must be accountability for Richardson like everyone else.
We need true independence from the board including from himself. It was a mistake to allow him to have any say in the confirmation of Barry as chair.

How would that work? The recruitment committee is separate from the board and is delegated authority to make decisions.

Could also say that about Richardson getting a free pass by everyone. At the end of the day, Richardson and the board changes are linked.
I mean let's face it I wasn't a Pascoe fan but if he delivered this contract at a time of much deliberation with Galvin and new clubs soon appearing what would people say?

What are the parameters?
Personally I think finals are not a stretch too far. I dont blame the roster alone for the past 2 spoons. I think both squads and sets of coaching staff underperformed and deserve kicks up the arse for the poor returns.
Im sceptical the coaching staff can turn it around, therefore Im banking on the squad to lift and play to their potential.
Free(ish) reign is often one of the prices you pay for getting really experienced people running your club.
It would be exactly the same if Gould, Bennett or Bellamy were at the club.
