This is the whole issue.

HBG haven't been a success.

It's been in the same hands for over a decade apart from the last 2 years under Richo.

We have only shown positive signs and profit in those 2 years.

Well according to their philosophy, every time they stuff up, they do a reset and flip the hourglass again, no time's up.

Since the 20 debenture system was introduced magpies have not won a Grand Final (excluding the Tigers 05 win) but have won 8 wooden spoons.
After 70 years of doing the same thing you would at least think 🤔 hey this is not working.

Just in the interests of accuracy, the Magpies made the finals in 91, 92, 96.
I don't know if that qualifies as the easy beats of the '90's.
Balmain only once.
By the time of the joint venture both clubs were rubbish.

Closing this thread as it has also descended into a retcon of the past success or lack-of of the two JV members.

The last 2 years are a testimony of Shane Richardson's ability.

General consensus is that Richo was a success and due to the decisions of HBG he is no longer here.
