That’s true, times have changed.
Yet all this talk of us being underfunded is based on what exactly?
It’s a perception
Not just mine but a few friends aswell

I’m personally not meaning to point the finger at hbg.Even as a parent I regulate how much I give my children as I see fit.
For all I know it could be how the money is spent

I see your point about erina but I can’t speculate as I have zero insight

Moving forward I just hope we can finally turn the corner with some good and regular wins.
Then all this will be further from anyone’s mind

I was responding to a post where the guy literally wrote that It all happened before he was born and therefore he didn’t give a toss. So yeah - he was saying the past doesn’t matter. (his post has since been deleted)

And yes, I do agree that one side of the joint venture has for twenty five years now, been underrepresented. That ABC commentator Andrew Moore is regularly criticised by fans when he intermittently calls our club “Wests” (he mixes ‘Wests Tigers’, ‘Tigers’ and ‘Wests’ in his calls), shows just how far this uneven perception has travelled. It is after all our name. And before anyone stumps up the argument that our name is not ‘Wests’ but “Wests Tigers” then I might suggest this technical defence doesn’t seem to apply to Manly Warringah, Canterbury Bankstown or Cronulla Sutherland.
Wests Tigers greats Ben Elias & Steve Roach, down in Tigertown at the eighth wonder would no doubt vehemently disagree with me, however as much as people are over this topic - there is a valid reason why it keeps festering. Attempting to shut down anyone who wants to voice an opinion on matters pertaining our club is disappointing. I might suggest that rather than ganging up on a fellow contributor - you don’t actually have to respond to a post if your over that topic. Easy. Fixed it!
Sorry to tell you but Blocker calls the team ‘Wests’ plenty of times when he calls our games or just in general and I’ve heard Elias do the same ( maybe on purpose) and I can’t recall anyone complaining about Andrew Moore , in fact surprised more than a few people would still listen to him.
As for your Manly Warringah, Canterbury Bankstown and Cronulla Sutherland analogy?
All two words shortened to one (the first).
WestsTigers is ONE word.
I must admit I never understood this brain dead decision.
Notwithstanding all this I don’t agree with your assumption the Magpie side of the venture is under represented.
It drives the club at board level (unfortunately very poorly at present), retains its colours and has a Magpie on the jersey for historical sake (we are the Tigers).
All this and the primarily ‘Wests’ board demands Western Suburbs Magpies represents us as our reserve grade side and play out of Lidcombe Oval.
What’s going to make you (and some others) happy except a complete takeover?

With respect, I find this to be such a naive position, with Orwellian undertones 🤣🤣🤣

So a section of a society (a group on the forum) feels they aren’t getting a fair crack - you shut down all discussion. Culture is ever evolving - you can’t encase it in concrete boots. Why be scared of someone else’s point of view. As I said previously, if people are over a certain topic, then don’t respond. Simple !

But as Voltaire famously wrote 👇 (fancy an old Fibro era Magpie quoting Voltaire 🤣🤣🤣)
No ones suggesting "shutting down all discussion"
Merely moving it to an appropriate sub forum.

As for being scared of a pov....thats not occuring either...hijacking and taking threads off topic is though

It's one word?
Not according to every piece of merchandise I've ever bought or the NRL website.
Here's what copilot has to say:

"It’s actually two words: Wests Tigers. That’s the official name of the NRL club, born from the joint venture between the Western Suburbs Magpies and the Balmain Tigers. You’ll see it written that way across official NRL sites and match listings.

That said, fans and commentators sometimes blur it into one—WestsTigers—especially online or in forum chatter, but that’s more stylistic than correct. A bit like how people write "ManlyWarringah" or "CronullaSutherland" even though they’re technically two words."

Even if it were true that thought wouldn't have entered into a single person who's called them the Tigers mind.

You really are desperately clutching at straws if that's your best shot.

By the way I couldn't give a rats if they're called Wests or the Tigers in the media.

I do arc up when Blocker and Benny call them Balmain.

You sure do write some fanciful one eyed complete horse hockey, but this outdid your previous best.

Coivtny...I appreciate your balanced tone and your defence of Wests Magpies when needed.
I just want to clarify something you said about "a small minority who wish things were as they once were".
I also have no desire to return to pre 2000 arrangements.
I too lived through that era and know how tough it was for the Magpies.

So I hope you weren't referring to me in that comment, because my posts have consistently focused on representation, not regression.

What I am saying, and have said in every post, is that the current jersey doesn't reflect a fair balance.
The Magpies have been diluted to a small patch on the collar and shoulder, while the Tiger dominates the colours of our jersey and branding narrative.
Thats not equal representation...it's symbolic marginalisation.

This isn't about turning the clock back. It's about ensuring that both sides of the JV are visible, valued and celebrated.

Because right now, the story told by our branding feels overwhelmingly one sided.
Respectfully BZN if this whole concern of under representation is due to limited Magpie colouring on the jersey I think it is you seeing an issue that is not there.

I think there is some genuine reason for Magpies fans to feel aggrieved as until a little bit of posturing recently about upgrading the stadium at Campbelltown, everything has been inner west focussed and the junior catchment has largely lacked investment.
It's hard to blame the Tigers for this as well. It is the inner west owners serving their own interests.

Magpies fans however do have the reserve grade side to cheer on. Something I'd wager many Balmain fans wish they had.

Voltaire was a good player but always played better when he was paired with Jean Dop.

Well what exactly do the Wests side want to make representation more fair ?
The main jersey to me looks like a Magpie jersey with an orange v, the orange jersey has a black and white v like the old Magpie jersey. We are named Wests tigers, It is the most fair joint venture there is.
Check out the Dragons and northern eagles, now those Bear and Steeler fans have something to complain about. The only way to get more Wests is to remove the Tiger completely.

I've seen the comments, some indirect, some not so subtle.
I've been called a "richard" which we all know is shorthand for something else.
No name used of course, just enough for me to "assume".

I've also seen someone say... I spend half my time on here bagging him.
Again, no name used, just enough for me to "assume".

And I'm the one labelled deluded, manipulative and playing the victim.

Let me be clear'
I've never resorted to name calling.
I've never asked for a return to 2000.
I've consistently advocated for balance, fairness and representation.
So, if some people think this is too much to ask to bring unity, then I think there is a strong case of branding bias.

If that's delusion, then I'll wear it proudly.

And when some posters resort to cheap shots instead of educating, Imo it says more about their insecurity than my intent.

I'm not here to bag anyone.
FTW @BZN

The days of the malignant hate filled ferals using this forum to satisfy their anger needs are coming to a rapid end.

And their slimey pissant quislings.

So far as I am concerned my brother, an attack on you is an attack on all of us.

Did you already forget what you posted last night directed to me before yiu deleted them...ive got screenshots....this is very hypocritical of you

Good luck finding an organisation that has continually failed where the controlling doesn't face criticism or accountability.
I don't care where your allegiances were or are good luck no one who envies a Wests Tigers fan.- so any sensitivities about the emblem the colour ways and if commentators dont get the name right have well and truly worn out their use by date.
Do better and the criticism will stop.

Enough mate.
You went pretty hard mate and you've made some statements that are not correct in my view.

At least back it up with some fact and defend your position. I don't take your name calling personally, I'm just engaging purely on the point being made which is HBG is born from Wests Leagues club as stated on their website.

OK and this is MY last word on the subject because it has become totally boring. I have no dispute with what you’ve written above. My point is that a number of attacks have been directed at Wests Magpies FOOTBALL club and they are not HBG or Wests Ashfield. They are totally separate and distinct entities. By all means direct your venom at HBG. I can’t and won’t defend them,

The HBG has 4 out of 7 seats on the Wests Magpies football club board, so I wouldn't say they are separate and distinct entities.
