Chemist Warehouse Injury Update: James Tedesco

Gutless cowardly hit by James on a defenceless player. James should be suspended for at least as long as Teddy will be out-but he won't because of the feckless NRL judiciary, fixated as they are on weightier issues like players brushing against referees.

Been copping high shots all year. Ironically this was not intended.
Thats why we need a couple of loose canons up front. Sure these days opponents may think ah its to pro these days he won't get me but they can't be sure so they stay honest.
Refs won't do it I reckon they have been told to let more go because there is a shortage of quality players so they don't want to many suspended.
Didn't see teddy coping many when we had Marty Blair Thompson and Gavet up front.
Our young guys need protection.

Very sad for Teddy wish him the speediest recovery.

How can you say there was no intent it was a stiff swinging arm.

A swinging arm is a swinging arm intentional or not !
It's become the norm these days to smash the fullback when fielding a bomb and unable to protect himself

I just thought it wasn't intended because he was falling and James are was pointed down.

Not as bad as Corey Parkers anyways.

Not intentional? I doubt James intended to break his jaw but did intend to hurt him. As others have said, he's been copping it all season. He's a threat and thats one way to slow him down.
Is a swinging arm required to tackle a man that is already falling? I think this is exactly the sort of tackle the MRC should have a good look at, whether it is Tedesco or somebody else.

Yeah,Jack Gibson at Parra. turned it into an art form but its sneaking back into the game again, only defence a FB has if his team mates are too tired/lazy to block is to get the jump in and take it in the air.

No such thing as enforcers these days.
Teddy copped about 7 swinging arms in a single game against Souths back in 2014, when all of those mentioned were in our 17.
Star players get belted week in and week out, it's unfortunately part of the game. Our guys gave Thurston heaps last week and we all loved it. Teddy (and our halves) will cop it as well - just gotta hope the officials protect him/them in terms of head shots.

Well there ya go … Ryan James cops a careless grade 2 charge .
If he pleades guilty , he'll miss 1 week only .

What a friggin joke

Unbelievable. Freddy Fittler was wild. Reckons he should have got grade 4\. Why isn't he on the MRC?

So Simona cops 3 weeks for his "crusher" earlier in the season & James cops one for breaking a jaw. The NRL is going backwards very quickly, they keep managing to shoot themselves in the foot.

That Simona charge was utterly ridiculous.

The NRL is a joke, it couldn't run a chook raffle, how that's a grade two is beyond me

The system is a utter disgrace,

The way I see it, coaches will tell a reserve forward player to take out a halfback, make sure you break his jaw, miss a week and the other guy misses 6 weeks, that's what this is encouraging

NRL have lost the plot honestly it turns me off the game

Ryan James tries to take Teddys head off and gets 1 week. Taupau did the same thing earlier this year and got one week, last year did the same to Maloney for us and got 4 weeks. Simona accidentally falls on a blokes head and gets 3 weeks.

There is no consistency.

Hayne full on bear hugged a ref on the weekend again and won't miss a game I bet…

That was lucky imagine how banged up he would have been had James really tried to take him out, at least the MRC will hold its end up (where are the similies when I need one)!!

Perhaps some inappropriately violent banners would get the message across to the NRL. Spread across channel nine. Something has to change.

It can be a difficult injury to come back from mentally. I remember Dale (Rowdy) Shearer suffered a badly broken jaw and he was never the same due to how horrific the injury and recuperation was. They used to wire your jaw shut for weeks (I don't know if that's still the case). I wish Teddy a speedy recovery and look forward to him being fighting fit for next years preseason.

Honestly if it was teams reversed, I would be saying the Tigers defender did not have intent to strike the head. For all the ways to have your jaw broken, Teddy's one was one of the more innocuous.

I will not argue that there isn't a lack of consistency though, particularly with some crushers or ref touching getting multi weeks.

A day will come, when Teddy wins the " Golden Boot" award, and no one will be more deserving of it.

All the best, champion's rise above adversity, and once again you will.

Agree with what your saying , BUT … Just say Hayne had his jaw busted by say ..Lovett , Lovett would be hung out to dry for 6 weeks at least !

I think the injury inflicted should come into consideration with stuff like head highs, the onus should be more on the defender to stay away from the head intensional or not. Teddy gets 6-8 weeks at best Ryan James 1 week, absolute joke :crazy

Most times these days refs will call players out in this situation where theyre off side, with a fullback as a sitting duck waiting to catch a bomb with defenders bearing down in him and in their sights, they always call players out.
The ref knew he was offside, penalising him immediately….why didnt the ref call him out?
