Chris Lawrence to snub Dogs, stay Tiger

What's the Latest Here ???

This Issue is the final piece of the puzzle for the club IMO.

Parra have stated publicly that they will "make do" with the halves they have in 2011, yet the appear to have truckloads of capacity in their cap by their approaches to Quade Cooper ($$$ around 600K mentioned in the papers)

Add the release of Tahu and an additional $$$ 300K freed up.

Chris L is the premier young Centre about to be on the market. Parra aren't strangers to paying substantially to poach players…

Concerned....

im not

I'm not concerned at all. They should be more concerned that we end up poaching Mannah. Parra have nothing and can't even offer overs to attract players. Webb? Fat old has been. Maitua? Never was with bad attitude. Hicks? Past it.

Rowdy wants a premiership!

That along with his loyalty to the club and mateship with the players will see him remain a Tiger beyond 2011!

Is there even a single shred of evidence to suggest that Lawrence wants to leave and/or Parramatta are interested in signing him????

Anyone??? No? Well then we'll just wait for Chris to re-sign when he's ready then…

I'm just being real and promoting some healthy Discussion re Chris L.

Tim wont be let go very easily. He is part of Kearney's leadership group and he is only 22\. Future Captain for Sure.

Tigers No Chance Unfortunately - One of my mates said that both he and Bro Jon were spoken about as being signed to play together at another Sydney club that their extended family supports. I Dont see it happening especially when Johnny the Man Mountain rips it this year for the Sharks.

From a very good source - Lawrence loves it at the Tigers and has not thought about even raising talks with any other club, at the moment his priorities are the Wests Tigers and also the business he runs with mates, he hopes to be signed to the Tigers for a long time!

Thats what we want to hear… Cheers, Craig.

Thankgod for that reading all this stuff about him going to another club was starting to make me teary eyed.

Canterbury are circling just to push up Tim's contract price for Parra - just as they did with Mortimer when they really wanted Keating (who they got)! And just as Kerry Packer did with the AFL TV rights prior to his death!

Hahahaha….Rowdy has decided to quit RL altogether and take up bobsled racing...

The opportunity to represent Australia at the Winter Olympics was too big an opportunity to pass up....

He has options tho...should the Aussie bobsled team fail to qualify a spot on the Curling team is being held for him...make a good sweep...

Fair dinkum ...keep up people...

Off-contract West Tigers centre Chris Lawrence has expressed his desire to remain a one-club player as he continues to weigh up his options beyond this season.

Lawrence, who has played 90 first-grade games since making his debut as a fresh-faced 18-year-old, has begun discussions with the joint-venture club.

The Test centre will have no problems finding a new home in the NRL if he is unable to strike a deal with the Tigers.

But the 22-year-old made it clear his preference is to remain alongside team-mates Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah for many seasons to come.

"If I had the opportunity to I'd definitely like to be a one-club man," Lawrence told Sportal.

"I respect and admire all those players that do play at the one club and if I was lucky enough to have that opportunity I would love that."

"I'm in talks at the moment about what we're going to do so hopefully that doesn't linger around too long and we can get it sorted out."

"My main motivation is to try and play well and get the Tigers a win and then my personal goal is to play rep footy."

"If I'm doing that then hopefully the contract will sort itself out."

Lawrence, who scored a try on debut for the Kangaroos against New Zealand in last year's Four Nations tournament, admits his taste of the representative scene left him wanting more.

"My major goal this year is to play State of Origin for the Blues ... I'd definitely like to get a game but I think first and foremost I've just got to make sure my form's good for the Tigers," he said.

"My job first and foremost is to make sure that I'm one of the best centres playing at the moment and hopefully I'll get selected."

Lawrence gets his first chance to impress this Saturday night when the Tigers take on a near full-strength Roosters side in the annual Foundation Cup clash at the SFS.

It is the first time to two sides have met since last season's memorable qualifying final that saw the Tri Colours sneak home 19-15 in extra time.

Lawrence insists the Tigers have moved on from the disappointing loss but admits the thrilling clash has added to the rivalry between the two sides.

"It was an amazing game and unfortunately we were on the wrong side of that but we couldn't do anything about the result so we just had to get on with it," he said.

"And that's the same as this year, there's no point thinking about that for this year and this game because it's a new season and we've got new goals and it's a different situation."

"This is our last trial and this is sort of the last chance to get out any kinks before the start of the competition."

"We've really made the point that we want to start the season well ... it's that a tight a competition as everyone saw last year that you can't afford to be chasing your tail at the end of the season."

The Roosters will be without the services of Dally M medallist Todd Carney, with promising youngster Mark Kheirallah to wear the No.6 jersey in his absence.

Carney is expected to be back on deck for next month's season opener against Souths after making a speedy recovery from off-season groin surgery.

Bulldogs in mega move for Chris Lawrence

THE BULLDOGS have started planning for life after Jamal Idris by circling off-contract centres Chris Lawrence and Shaun Kenny-Dowall.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal that the Canterbury Bulldogs have sounded out Lawrence and will make a $350,000 play for the Test centre should Idris take up a $1 million offer to join the Nathan Tinkler-backed Knights.

The Belmore-based club has also expressed interest in Kenny-Dowall, who has five clubs trying to snatch him away from the Roosters.

With the season kick-off just 12 days away, the game's hottest off-contract players are worth a combined $4.5 million.

The Sunday Telegraph has spoken to players, managers and coaches and we can reveal where some of the biggest stars in the game will be next year.

Geez I hope the Tigers re-sign Lawrence soon. He was very good tonight and should be a Tiger for life. I can see the Tigers letting the likes of Moors, Daniela and Brown go in order to keep Lawrence.

Nothing article, of course the doggies are interested, Chris is hot property. But he will stay with Tigers, you can bank on that. He is a one club player and always will be.

I just love watching him play - you forget he's only 22\. I really hope WT get him signed up on a good, long contract. "Chris Lawrence, Tiger For Life" is a headline I want to read!

Why aren't the Tigers re-signing him??..He wants to stay…there are other clubs lining up for him...there must be something wrong....
