Chris Lawrence to snub Dogs, stay Tiger

By the way - Not that I believe everything I read in the Sydney tabloids

How can the dodgy Doggies offer Chris Lawrence $350K when this mornings SMH reads as follows;

Idris, 20, meanwhile, is considering a deal from Newcastle worth $350,000 a season over three years, significantly more lucrative than what the Bulldogs could presently put forward.

Just on that,Morris and Lawrence are both left centres,I don't think Lawry would like to play right centre for a few dollars more.

I can see lawrence signing in the next couple of weeks now that sheens is about to sign as well, if sheens had of gone to souths it could of been a lot different with lawrence, i also think lawrence had an uncle who played with souths years ago.

Does anyone have an issue with the fact it may or will not happen before thet start of season I think if I was Tim or Chris I would like to have it sorted before the start of season just so they have there heads 100 % on playing |coaching at their premium

Nope. Unless you're Ben Te'o, most players are able to play football and negotiate a contract at the same time. That's why you have agents/managers…

If we were worried about him going - we may have set down a pre-Round 1deadline as we did with Prince in 2006!

The fact we haven't suggests to me that we are comfortable to negotiate & confident about retaining him!!

I was on fox sports news on tv they said were not to fair to signing chris lawrence and our ceo said his had gud talks with his manager and he said he said lawrence wants to be a tiger for life :smiley:😀

Let's just wait and see they seem to have been close to a deal for six months now. I hope it's true and feel Chris wants to be a Tiger for Life but I need that pen to paper to start celebrating

Haven't a lot of players said they want to be tigers for life? lawrence and i think i heard ayshford and heighno say it as well

Fantastic news…...Chris Lawrence is the future of the Wests Tigers as important as Benji

Heighno IS a Tiger for life by virtue of his three year extension (along with Gibbo)!!

And Blake would also love to stay - as would Rob Lui for that matter!!

Nobody of note wants to leave if we can afford to keep them!

We consistently re-sign our forwards before their contracts are up for renewal without any fuss - the extension of Gareth for two more years - when he was only one year into a three year deal was the greatest evidence of how much the boys love being there!!!

That is the result of the fantastic culture the club has created under Sheens & now Humphreys also!!
