Maybe Mick agrees with me. Here's hoping.

What do you suggest the Tigers do? If they release him early, everyone will be whinging that we are paying a portion of his salary for another club. Exactly like Gibbs and co.

At the time the reported amount was 5 year 1.9 million

That averages at 380 k a season

That's almost bang on - I remember it was an odd number - worked out to be little more than 350K per year.

Lord people here either have short memories or don't know how to research - It's like every time I hear someone say OMFG ADAM BLAIR IS ON 500-550K per year - I just want to headbutt them.

Incidentially - FOR THE RECORD - Adam Blair is on LESS THAN 400K per year - How much less I do not know.

Lawrence's contract may have been backloaded though with salary cap increases written into the contract.

Also, i've never heard of sub 400k figures for Adam Blair, especially not in his 2nd last and last years of the contract. Most contracts increase in the last years as the cap rises.

Exactly right. I'm pretty sure i recall his contract being heavily back loaded. So it may have been 200k a season at first and 600k a season towards the end, which roughly would average out to 400k.

That's why for one we weren't able to offer Teddy a decent amount in the first two seasons, players like Lawrence, Moltzen and i'd guess possibly Blair too are all on heavily backended contracts. This meant we had little room to move for the big money earners until they leave. Teddy wanted more in the first 2 years but we couldn't do that.

It also explains why the club was a bit reluctant to go down this road again. Having a minor spread of the salary over years is fine, but as Manly saw with Glen Stewart, having heavily backended deals bites you on the bum at the end of the contract, if you have other players you want to re-sign. It's much better planning wise to have a consistent amount in the salary cap.

If you keep going down that road it's a perpetual cycle of back-loading contracts. And then not having the space to sign quality players when those contracts are at their biggest.

Wiki is regularly wrong, but not wrong about the timing of his white hot form AFTER his injury.

**Yep. I always found it how people blamed his injury given some of his best form was post-injury.**

If the side performs well, Chris will perform well. Mark my words.

Whatever you're on, i want some and a lot of it.

Lawrence's form has always been directly linked to the form of the halfback.

Ayshford's was always linked to the five-eighth (and still is).

Simona is now hampered by relying on decent ball and opportunities from Anasta.

And we all know that ain't gonna happen,Anasta is not only not performing himself,he is holding the whole team back.

This is 100% correct…Simona is getting no quality ball from Anasta....The left edge is directed by Brooks...time for Anasta to go
