Wests and Balmain are goneFans want answers to so many questions ? ...
You're dead right mate. Fans want answers to all the questions. Seeing that many here are so intent on sticking the knife into HBG at every opportunity( some of you are obsessed ), let's apply the same scrutiny to the other half of the JV.
That'd only be fair, yes ? What was originally two halves of an entity, and all . . .
Did we ever find out the reason Balmain's board and club rammed itself into the ground, exploded and imploded at every level, showed incompetence at Olympic record levels till it needed to be bailed out ?
I'm sure the fans want those same answers as to why one half of the JV blew itself and it's cash into the stratosphere, and forced us in the situation that we are in.
I don't remember that abysmal failure attracting anywhere near the degree of scrutiny that has gone on here for the past few months.
I sure as hell would like answers. Because we wouldn't be sitting here having this discussion if the Balmain board did the things that you guys are shouting and demanding HBG's board do.
It would be a refreshing change to hear why Balmain's board did 100X worse than what HBG is being constantly whined about on here, yet somehow this absolutely catastrophic event in the short history of our club is oh so conveniently never ever spoken about.
It seems that people's intolerance and utter contempt for boardroom dodgy stuff conveniently only developed a few months ago. How conveniently selective.
Now that I've got your BP up . . . let me say that I don't particularly support anything that's to the detriment of this footy team that I follow. I really do hope it blows over and gains some stability to not affect our season.
But whatever the outcome, there is only one reason that HBG are majority owners.
And Steve, this isn't directly at you. Your post just happened to be the last of a string that formed an ever recurring theme here . . .
Here some nostalgia for youThey’ve been saying this for at least a decade.
What took place that might have caused instability?Time heals wounds @mtd#2
Surely you would agree Wests Tigers as a club desperately needs stability more than ever at the moment.
Its only when the explanation makes no sense that people think there are lies. The lack of communication explanation doesnt pass the pub test with two HBG board members present, and the lack of any minuted disputes on the issue. Didn't help that the last statement had to be retracted too...That’s good in theory, but if you look at it from HBG’s point of view they would most likely be at the point where they are thinking it’s better to say nothing as every time one of their representatives makes a statement there are people who want to comment that they are telling lies.
Whether you believe them or not, nobody is going to happily accept being ridiculed every time they make a statement.
I’m paraphrasing but he basically said you can never have enough resources in that area but we need better systems and structures. Now my inference, for the size of our junior base, it’s pretty obvious we aren’t capitalising on it.Yep just wondering what he is specifically talking about
Lachie Galvin, Tallyn Da Silva, Heamasi Makasini to name a few. Here some nostalgia for you
“South western Sydney is the fastest growing area in Australia” 😂😂😂
Been a while (week or 2) since we heard that!!
Have we pulled a decent player from there since Tedesco 13 years ago?

Galvin, Da Silva and Makasini remain unproven.Lachie Galvin, Tallyn Da Silva, Heamasi Makasini to name a few.
Plenty of talent has always come through the South-West region and it’s only getting stronger.
The challenge has always been and continues to be having the right connections and enough money in our budget to keep the best of them away from rival clubs.
Shannon Galkant seems to have done and continuing to do a great job, but there is always plenty of room for improvement.
No doubt about that, but they were standouts among their age groups when coming through the junior ranks and there is a lot of players from the South-West that fit this description.Galvin, Da Silva and Makasini remain unproven.

They bang on about how big it is - and they have one bloke running it.I’m paraphrasing but he basically said you can never have enough resources in that area but we need better systems and structures. The guy had a front row seat to Gus’ work setting up Penrith’s dynasty.
Would you say the two are no great lossNone of them have proven anything except they’ve been well overhyped and promoted too early…
You keep clapping happily though
Did he give you the feeling he was just there to smooth things overHe came across as a bog average snake oil salesman. Very unimpressed.
Change and peace often don’t go hand in handOk give peace a chance.
So what are you trying to say, that you don’t rate the South-West as a rugby league talent pool ?None of them have proven anything except they’ve been well overhyped and promoted too early…
Also, a lot of time between 2012 and your reference from less than 2 years ago?
You keep clapping happily though
