I said a long time ago on this forum (before Galvin walked out) that Galvin reminded me of Hastings. Slow runner and too many touches for not enough impact. I was shouted down on the forum. I will be watching the next couple of years of Galvin’s career with interest because if he keeps serving up the same, sooner or later people will be questioning what they are getting for $1m per year.

Hope he becomes the best lock in the game, he will have to for that money, my gut feel is that's where he'll end up within two seasons.

Hell some of us were calling that two seasons in the past.

I think I agreed with you . If not in words then definitely a thumbs up . Hastings should have been as good as Yeo as a lock. Probably better .. but his ego wouldn’t allow for anything other than it all being about him, and now he will be remembered as a mediocre half who somehow got the knights to give him 800k a year

Mate … it’s beyond obvious as well . Just people can’t get past themselves to see it . And in all the arguing over the past couple of years I’ve never seen a reasonable argument to justify not doing it . And I’m sorry nostalgia is not a good enough reason IMO.

As a corollary to that: those who never look back are destined to make the same mistakes. There needs to ba a balanced approach with a focus on the future but guided by our past. We shouldn't dump the foundation clubs - but embrace the heritage through the name and colour scheme of Wests Tigers. So 100% we should be Wests Tigers in all grades and the argument to the dinosours should be what is best for the futre while recognising our past.

While I do agree partially. He is just a ball hog imo. Definitely much faster than Hastings. I can see in the future he will score lots of tries by just backing up. He’s always moving. Not much of a run threat because he’s not the zippiest but if he takes the hog from his game he’ll be an above average half and his support play may tip him to elite level. Really depends if he’s able to loose the hog though

Having Elias as Chairman would certainly raise the bar, although that didn't work out too well in the '89 Grand Final.
