We are talking about not re-signing Brooks

I think he fits the bill , solid defender , goal kicker , has speed could play a secondary role to Moses

I think his price would be far less than Brooks proposed dollars

Happy, I'd take him as a 3 quarter, not keen on him as a half.

Maybe as a running 5/8, as he looks ok with Norman next to him. The issue is with one injury he is left alone to the run the team, which he can't do.

They can't break it and play for a rival club in the NRL without a release. He won't get a release.

Not a true half, more a fullback/centre. Always had wraps on him & Parra picked him up subsidised by manly. Would have been a good pick up for whichever club he ended up at, with the only downside being his injury history.

DCE was very disappointed he left Manly , he really thought they would work well together after Foran left

They're all players who were entering the final year of their contracts and had signed with other clubs for the following year. If we approached him in 2019 and signed him from 2020 onwards then sure, he might get a release to join us in 2019\. He's not going to get a release years early though and I'm not even sure we're allowed to talk to him about a contract in 2020 this early…

That's the figure that has been bandied around here and on other forms of media.
With the salary cap increase that pretty close to what he will be wanting, there's no need to get your nickers in a knot just because someone on a Forum mentions something.
Forum a medium where issues or ideas can be exchanged.

Canberra did ok when sezer and Austin were missing last year. I'm sure the Bulldogs have won games without James graham :smiley:
But I get your point, I'll rephrase my view. Not a half, and wouldn't want him as one. Good player in the 3 quarter line to fill in at 5/8 in a pinch. I'd honestly prefer JLJ to partner Moses.

Thats right, the story was he knocked back $650k, wanted $800k, he isn't worth $650 let alone $800k, so chasing Bird is a good option.
